About the Author

John Galsworthy was known in his day as a playwright, but he is now best remembered for The Forsyte Saga, a series of three novels and two interludes that explore the social dynamics of the nouveau riche. Galsworthy campaigned for various social causes in his writing, including prison reform, censorship issues, womens rights, and the rights of animals. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1932. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Freud mentions Galsworthy's tales in his Civilizations and Its Discontents. JG is masterful with his language. A genuinely delightful read.

Galsworthy is a wonderful writer. I am rating this edition which appears to have been printed from a Kindle file. There is no publisher, no cover page, the first story starts on the first page inside the cover, the text is ~ 8 font, and the binding is cheap. The cover is attractive in order to sell the book on-line but this is not a published book, merely a print-out of text. Avoid this.
