I was the major force that put together the 2-record Elvis TV package that ultimately sold 4.4 million. I earned the respect of Colonel Parker, and the President of the RCA Records Division. In fact, as a reward of my effort, the Colonel requested that I be assigned to the RCA Tours Group, which involved traveling with Elvis on all of his personal appearances throughout the world. It was a shining moment in my professional life to be asked. However, my base of operation would be Las Vegas and I can’t handle that action on an ongoing basis. Reluctantly, I had to decline.
