I am in my late thirties and have struggled all my life with terrible handwriting. I recently started using this book to practice. The improvement has been dramatic even only after a week; my wife is simply shocked. I can't wait to visit my parents and show them how much I've improved.

One minor complaint is that this particular edition contains both an italic script as well as a full cursive; most students will probably only want to study one or the other. Another minor complaint is that I would have liked to see more of an explanation about when the italic letters should be joined or written separately.

Despite those small critiques, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in improving their handwriting.

Okay, so if you want to improve your handwriting, this product will benefit you. It's broken into two sections: (1) Print-Script, and (2) Conventional Cursive.

I started off with the Print-Script, but I became frustrated because I found it too difficult to implement. I then switched to improving my Conventional Cursive, and I liked that section quite a bit.

The program is set up to be put in a binder. Each page of the program focusses on a specific area. Exercises have you practice a few warm-up patterns that are consistent throughout the program. These exercises create the foundation of letter formation and rhythm.

You are also made aware of problem areas that everyone has difficulty with. The program teaches you to lift the pen as you write words, which people do instinctually, but I found it quite helpful to practice the technique so it eventually becomes automatic.

There's also sections on numbers which I found helpful (apparently I wasn't making my "5's" correctly).

All in all, I found the program fun and very effective. If you set aside 10 minutes a day to work with it, you will definitely improve within weeks.

This writing package is 100 pages of 3-hole punched paper, and represents a practical writing course for improving both your printing and your cursive writing. Fifteen minutes after opening the package, I was able to make noticeable improvements to my printing, which is normally atrocious. Thank you, Ms. Barchowsky, for this course.

After being required to block print in my job for over 32-years, I discovered I was no longer able to write legible cursive handwriting. I researched methods to improve my penmanship and bought this book as a means to help me develop a personalized and legible writing style to compliment my fountain pens. So far it has worked very well. The author has many years of experience and wrote a very good hands-on guide. It is loose-leaf and three-hole punched to fit in a three ring binder. She provides practice sheets and encourages you to copy them for your use. She also shows that all letters do not need to be joined together and a variety of writing styles to help you develop a personalized style of writing. I am only on the Day 18 Exercises but when I go back to where I began to use this book I notice a profound improvement in my cursive handwriting. I also normally write in a daily journal very early in the morning to practice the skills I learned from the workbook exercises the night before. In essence this workbook has worked very well for me. The only downside I can see is that I didn't buy this earlier. I thought it would be grueling to learn a new handwriting, and it wasn't really easy, especially at first as my speed sagged. But with an immediate return on legibility, and a firm commitment to take all my handwriting notes (and my work requires a lot of handwriting) in italic script, I quickly developed a fast, legible, and aesthetically pleasing new handwriting. I imagine it'd also work for the traditional cursive part, but I didn't bother, since I've always found cursive ugly and slow. The slightly old-fashioned but very clean italic script is perfect for me. I don't know why I waited as long as I did.

We are so pleased with this product. Not your every-day "write it 10 times" program. This has worked for myself as well.
