The book provides a unified look at these systems, explaining the relationship between structural inhomogeneities of the velocity and pressure fields in fluids passing through the bed, transport phenomena and the progress of chemical reactions. The author's approach to the subject begins with a look at the mathematical models, presents asymptotic solutions and numerical results, and closes with a general discussion of the obtained results.
