Editorial Reviews

2010 release from the Florida-based Alt-Rockers. Since coming together in 2007, VersaEmerge have earned attention for their distinctive blend of powerful Pop sensibility and inventive Post-Hardcore sonics. Fueled by lead guitarist/programmer Blake Harnage's relentless experimentalism and Kusterbeck's expressive and energetic vocals, the band has already unleashed a formidable body of work.

I admit I am a sucker for strong female singers and groove infused rock. The songs have depth and a commercial pulse. The singer really sells the song. Her voice is excellent and with a trace of 80's rock, it is thoroughly modern power rock. I really love these guys!

So, Versaemerge has been around for a bit, I had previously found on about them through fueled by ramen. I enjoyed the Perceptions EP the most. Now they finally have a full length out. Its different in all honestly than the EPs in a sense.

Honestly, I do like it A lot though, all of the songs showcase not only Sierra's singing skills, but also the band as musicians, which is how a big big key, not just one of those "ohh she's a hot female singer! lets but the album"

Much like Paramore, who btw people need to quit comparing bands with female singers to, cause they were not the first to do it. Still they are a good band too.

So anyhow, "Fixed at zero" , The title track and first single was my first listen prior to the album, I dug it. The whole album is great, it seem to dull a slight bit in the middle, but the Epic 7 minute long song "Lost tree" ended the album kept well. Mythology, Fire(aim your arrows high), Mind reader, and stranger are also some of my personal favorites.

Overall 4.5 stars for an album that kept me interested throughout, A great mix of Pop and alternative. And yes, this band sounds different from paramore if you want to ask.

VersaEmerge is an incredible new rock band that I think deserves much more recognition than what they're currently receiving. All of their previous EPs were very good, but Fixed at Zero is an incredible first full length album from this band. I can't think of one track off of Fixed at Zero that I don't like...however a few of my absolute favorites are: Stranger, Up There, Fire (Aim Your Arrows High), and Fixed at Zero.

Also I know a lot of people are comparing them to Paramore, but I do not believe that the two bands have any relation at all. Sure they both have a female singer, but that doesn't mean anything. VersaEmerge is much darker and mysterious in my opinion. But I do think that any Paramore fan will love VersaEmerge.

I can't stop listening to this album. I recommend it, most definitely!!!

I first heard of them because they were being followed around on World of Jenks. Here's the test, though. It's SO not my kinda music, but I really like it. It's almost rare today to hear a female lead singer that doesn't sound like it's 70% electronics making her voice sound like it does (or bad enough that it should be), but Sierra's voice is crystal clear and in complete control. The band compliments it well, and the mix is just right.

I first heard of Versaemerge when they had a song on the TV show Supernatural. I was hooked since then. The album is amazing, I love every song but my favorites are Fixed at Zero, Mind Reader, Redesign Me, You'll Never Know, and Fire. If you are a Paramore or Flyleaf fan, you should definitely try Versaemerge. You won't be disappointed.

I was recommended this band because I like similar artists. I wouldn't say this band is one of my favorites or anything, but they are pretty likable. I really enjoyed this cd and some of the songs are very catchy. If you normally like girl rock, I think you would enjoy this.
