Bought it as a backup,
By Cyclocommuter (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews What I like about the Arione: 1. Flexibility. There is more room to move fore and aft because of its length. This also allows me to move back and dig in when doing long climbs or move a bit more forward when on high speed courses. 2. Features. All Fizik saddles have the ICS clip which allows me to transfer my Fizik ICS saddle bag from one bike to the other with ease. 3. Design. It comes in various colors which you can match to the colors of the your bike(s). The latest one I got was black with a red strip running down the middle... matches my red and black bike perfectly. 4. Durability. I have probably put in more than 5000 kms on my oldest Fizik and the only signs of wear are on the side edges of the saddle. 5. Light weight. The Arione weighs in at around 225 grams which is relatively on the lighter side as far as bike saddles go.

Seats are personal,

This review is from: Fizik Arione K:ium Wing Flex Road Bicycle Saddle (Sports)
This was actually to replace an older Arione that was moved to the trainer. Seats are very personal and what works for one person might not work at all for someone else, but for me, this is my current favorite. It doesn't have a cut-out, which I'd worried about at first and held off on going with the Arione. What I found was that the softer material down the center on the Arione combined with the longer platform (fore/aft) was more comfortable for me than a cut-out. Being able to change my position fore/aft makes a big difference. I'm a road guy, not a TT rider, so I can't speak to how it works in a TT application, but on the road I've got roughly 8,000 miles on the Arione and it's all I ride now.

certainly a good purchase,
This review is from: Fizik Arione K:ium Wing Flex Road Bicycle Saddle (Sports)
During the last two years, I have been re-building a trek-1000 road bicycle, replacing every component with high-quality ones, whenever I have time and money. This time I changed the Bontrager saddle for a Fizik. The difference is remarkable. In short: besides the smaller area, Fizik is much more comfortable, probably due to a better contact area with the body. Also, it provides more space for the legs, and indeed I think that helps me to go a bit faster, since it is easier to align my legs straight with the pedals. My only regret is the price.

Ouch!,

Bought it, rode it, hated it, sold it!Despite the expense, this is one super hard and unforgiving saddle. For a road bike, I would recommend the Bontrager Inform line over this seat any day! |
