4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, unobtrusive, and effective
This light is not a lighting powerhouse - that's not its forte'. It is a very small, lightweight, and unobtrusive safety device that provides "always there" basic safety in urban environments. Safety research clearly shows that reflectors are NOT enough to protect cyclists, so it's great to have a system you just forget about until the sun gets low and then you reach back...

This light is not a lighting powerhouse - that's not its forte'. It is a very small, lightweight, and unobtrusive safety device that provides "always there" basic safety in urban environments. Safety research clearly shows that reflectors are NOT enough to protect cyclists, so it's great to have a system you just forget about until the sun gets low and then you reach back on the go and press on the clear plastic lens and turn it on continuous or blinking mode and keep riding. One press turns it on, two makes it blink.

The light clips into the Fi:zik seat mount system and goes on and off easily. The mount is very overbuilt for this light, as it is made to support a seatbag, but keeps the light tucked in safe and sound so even if you fall it won't come off, and the shape of the seat allows it to shine through its full 200 degree sweep, giving it some side lighting capability.

The power source is a single 2032 lithium button cell that is becoming the standard for small devices like Sigma's bike computer and sensors. The cells can be purchased in bulk here on Amazon for as little as 30 cents apiece. The burn time in blinking mode seems to be over 8 hours, but carry a few spares and be safe. The hatchcover holding the battery can be unscrewed with a button cell or a coin. It's a silly simple system that works.

Since I have a seat bag and AquaRack on my seat and seatpost, I really don't have room for a conventional post mounted light - although I would find room somewhere if I were doing a double century where I would be riding for hours at night on back roads. Sometimes you really need a big powerful light. For the rest of the time, this works great.

So why not 5 stars? The price is ridiculous! This is a $5 item IMHO.
