Mr. Dedmount provides an important contribution to understanding the history of the War Between the States. The men fighting in these Regiments had a profound loyalty to each other and the colors they lived and died under. I have search for many years to a copy of this flag of the SCV Inf, 11th Regimental. My Great grandfather Roberson Driggers, his son and his brother were part of this Regiment, Company C. They were all captured under this flag at Town Creek, NC, and perished at POW Camp Lookout, Maryland, and buried in a mass grave. We have a similar POW Confederate Cemetery here in Elmira, NY, where members of the 11th Regmt are buried. . It helps to see a copy of the flag of this unit. Congratulations on finding this flag and thank you for making it available.

This book gives a great history of the SC flags used during the war between the states. I personally have an interest in the 11th Reg't., South Carolina Volunteer Infantry (9th Vols). this is the first book which I have found that contains information on all of the "SC Battle flags". My thanks to the author: Glenn Dedmondt.
A must book for South Carolina research!
