Book Description

November 14, 1994 Men-at-Arms (Book 278)
In his book Mein Kampf Adolf Hitler claims that he made the decision to use the swastika as the emblem for his fledgling movement. He was responsible for the shape the swastika finally took, and for the choice of colours used, which set the pattern for all subsequent flags. In this third of a series of texts [MAA 270 & MAA 274], Brian L. Davis investigates the flags of the Third Reich party and police units, in a text complemented by numerous contemporary photographs, and eight full page colour plates by Malcolm McGregor.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Flag Book, September 6, 2005
By
James F. Nelson (Ellensburg, Washington USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Although this book showed some flags I was unfamiliar with, it came up short in terms of small pennants, which was my main reason for ordering it. In addition, there were very few color pages at all, and none of actual flags showing the detail most Collectors are looking for. Save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Basic Reference, January 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Flags of the Third Reich (3): Party & Police Units (Men-at-Arms) (Paperback)
This book shows most of the party and police unit flags of the Third Reich. It is not all inclusive, but what it shows is done thoroughly and in depth. In particular, the drawings of the flags show the details of the pole tops--a feature that is often overlooked by reference books. Many of the pictures have been shown in other references, but this author brings a wealth of information together in one place. Drawings are exceptional.
