Unpredictable and gun-damaging
on February 19, 2015
Absolutely some of the most unpredictable and gun-damaging pellets. I have spent the last two weeks trying to sight my Gamo Big Cat 1250 in on these pellets. No matter which way I adjust my scope, I only hit my target with luck. Sighted in the best I could, 6 shots made a 3 inch radius grouping at 10 yards. That was with my gun stabilized and aiming at the same point with each shot.
As for being gun-damaging, it's due to the pellets' 30% increase in velocity. After firing about four consecutive shots, the friction from the pellets against the inside of the barrel actually cause smoke to rise when I bend the barrel down. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to do that.
I would NOT recommend these pellets, and instead would recommend the red fire pellets. Despite the slightly slower velocity, they will drop small game just the same, they WILL hit the same mark with every shot, and will NOT make the barrel smoke. Just be careful what you touch after handling the red fire pellets, due to them being lead.
