Book Description

Skye Walters thought waking up on the side of a river with no memory was her biggest problem. She had no idea that the man who had saved her from drowning, the man she now depended on, Aiden, was more than mere mortal. A warrior of ancient.

No memory, nowhere to go, Skye stays in the mountain town, only to discover she herself, has unexplained powers. Her life, her destiny, are soon out of her control, as are her feelings for Aiden. The deeper Skye gets sucked into Aiden’s hidden world, the more the past, and who she really is, threatens her future, her love, her sanity.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"This title is action packed and faced paced. You are swept up into the story, there are twists, betrayals and enough fight scenes to keep everything moving along swiftly." - Amanda P., Paranormal Romance (paraormalromancenoveldotcom)

"Everyone is a mystery...Kudos for the author on that one. She has taken parts of mythology and created her own world.  It was very creative and intriguing." - Amy, The Book Diaries

5.0 out of 5 stars Flame Moon September 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
After a kayaking accident results in a head injury, Skye Walters awakens with no memory of who she is, who the man that's staring at her is, and why she would go kayaking when she instinctively knows she's scared of water. Aiden knows Skye isn't faking her lack of memory and he knows that Skye is special. Aiden isn't a mere man, he's a retired supernatural warrior. Aiden takes his responsibility for Skye seriously and he knows he has to hurry and make sure that Skye can protect herself, because once the rest of the supernatural community is aware of her, she'll be in grave danger as she possesses a power capable of throwing off the balance between good and evil.

This is a diamond to have found on the freebie lists, as this is a very well written and engaging story. I really didn't want to give away too much in my plot synopsis (which I don't feel does justice to the story), because every reveal the book gives is a really big part of the fun for this.

Skye and Aiden are fabulous characters, rich and personal. Their chemistry is palpable and their struggle is heartbreaking. The secondary characters Charlotte and Triaten are equally engaging, and I hope the author has plans for future books with them. The politics of the community were interesting as well as their issues with "half-breeds." The fighting and training were well done and the love scenes between Skye and Aiden are very classy and not ostentatious. This author has a real talent for setting the atmosphere consistently throughout and creating a natural line of dialog.

If I had any problems with this, it would be a minor complaint. I did feel that the author relied heavily on characters withholding information at several points in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good January 29, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was probably one of the more interesting and dynamic books I have read in a long time. The relationships are sensual and will drive anyone nuts, but what will really get you is Skye and Aiden's relationship. One of the best I've ever read...Very good and I would recommend it to anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Premise was great, but... January 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I was able to download this book for free through Amazon Prime, so I figured it was worth giving it a shot for that price. I was intrigued by the premise, and I really, REALLY wanted to like the book, but it fell flat for me. I still like the premise, there's just not enough "meat" to the story. I thought the relationship between Skye and Aiden needed to be better developed. It went from acquaintances to "I want you" seemingly overnight. There was no build-up, no real romance. I wasn't convinced of Aiden as a love interest, anyway, and when I read any romance (be it PNR or otherwise), I want to be made to "fall in love" with the leading man too. That was NOT there in this book, at all.

I appreciated that Skye was written as a strong but not annoying woman. So many of these "strong" female leads are just bitchy, not actually strong. Skye never simpered, never swooned, and I liked that.

The lack of editing was VERY distracting, especially later in the book. Is it too much to ask for a comma here and there? I can overlook the occasional error in these indie books (and I've been reading a LOT of them lately), but this one is the worst I've come across so far.

This could be a good book with a solid re-write by the author, fleshing out the relationships more and writing a deeper story. And please find a good editor when you're done...

2.0 out of 5 stars Flat, unbelievable romance November 4, 2012
By amr
Format:Kindle Edition
To be fair, I am not a fan of the genre of Romance. (Not that I don't like some romance in the plots of books I like, just not thrilled with Romance being the main point). I was curious about the main character, Skye, but the story was too uncomplicated and too farfetched for real life. And I am not even talking about the gods/goddesses stuff. Just not believable on any level, so I couldn't stay with it. The love story moved too quickly and was too stereotypical (his perfect body, the amazing chemistry, etc.). No, not for me. Not worth my time. And the typos! Good thing it was free in the Kindle lending library.

Good book. I cared about the characters. It was very sex heavy though. I would read another book by this author.

2.0 out of 5 stars What's the hype all about? January 17, 2013
By Lynnie
Format:Kindle Edition
I must have missed something why is this book getting 4-5 stars? I had downloaded it thinking it was going to be this great book based on all the reviews here. It was far from! The romance was not believable they just met and now will do anything to save each other. Gag! I am a Twilight fan read all the books this was just a bad remake minus vampires add gods? and evil gods? I dont mind a sex scene but these were overdone I literally skipped past the 3rd,4th,5th, and believe maybe even a 6th intimate scene they were each about 3 pages long and had nothing to do with the plot. It has the potential of having a really good story background but I did not fall in love with any of the characters. Thank God this was a short book!

There was a lot of things they could have left out of this book. The background was interesting as well as the setting, but I won't read anymore.
