Not thick enough,

I use these for just getting regular stuff like muffin pans and bread pans out of the oven and noticed that these are not thick enough. I have to work quickly in order for the heat to not burn my hands.

I bought these to bring camping. We often cook over the fire with cast iron and using these mitts instead of pot holders made it so much easier and safer. It is nice that they go a ways up the arm and are fairly thick. Ten bucks for two - I'd recommend them.

Good lenght and good heat resistance. No longer burning my hands!
The binding on the bottom is silver - I thought from the photo that it was white.

I purchased these mitts thinking they would give good coverage but they just cannot stand the heat. I could feel my fingers burning when I took out a Pyrex dish from my oven. I am only going to use these for flipping burgers on the grill. Very disappointing.

These mitts are nothing fancy, but they get the job done. I have been able to handle cast iron at 500+ degrees without issue. They are about as manly as it gets for oven mitts.

These oven mitts were marketed as commercial grade. I purchased these for a large church camp kitchen. We're constantly getting hot things from a convection and reg. oven, and I thought they would be a nice addition. They were extremely long - reaching up to our elbows, BUT you could feel heat through the gloves.
I didn't put them into an open flame to test the flam retardancy, but figure since you could feel heat from a hot pan, that might not be a good idea!

Pay attention to the folks who say these mitts are too long, too narrow and impossibly inflexible in the thumb and hand. They are not steering you wrong. Fortunately, my mother-in-law was there when the mitts arrived and she's a dress-maker. She cut them down to a reasonable length (They were literally up to my elbows) and bound off the edges. this didn't make them any more flexible, of course. I'm not sure I will be able to grasp anything much with them. I had bought them especially for using the charcoal starter -- wish me luck.

I recently started using cast iron cookware. My regular oven mitts couldn't handle the high heat generated by the cast iron. I bought these mitts, which do a much better job than my regular mitts, but I can still feel mild heat when I use them. They work great for any of my other cookware and for the grill, but my search for a mitt for cast iron will continue.

Lasted about 2 months, I do cook at high heat often but expected it would be more than 2 months before the mitt got burnt through. garbage now.

I'm not sure what to say about oven gloves that hasn't already been said. These gloves are well-made, comfortable, and heat-resistant. They are long enough that you can use them inside an oven or over an outdoor grill. Fancier gloves such as those that Oxo makes really seemed like design overkill. These were just right.
