New Love for Rap Music,
By
This review is from: Flame (Audio CD)
After turning my life over to Christ, I gave up listening to secular music, especially rap. After investing in FLAME (I actually bought it for my son), I now have a new found love for rap music. FLAME is truly anointed and does a wonderful job of combining the gospel w/hip-hop.
I recommend this to anyone.

Another CMR talent!,

The family at Cross Movement Records are releasing some brilliant work, annointed Christian Hip Hop with Jesus themed lyrics who offer a great alternative to all the secular hip hop junk out there. Flame is a real talent, powerful lyrics set to great beats. Give it a try if you dig rap.

Most truthful Christian lyrics to date.,
By Joel Munyon "Joel Munyon" (Joliet, Illinois - the poohole of America.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Flame (Audio CD)
Cross Movement affiliate Flame hits a 10 on his debut record. His lyrics are entirely Biblical, highly controversial - especially when he takes on oneness Pentecostals, Mormons, Scientology, Jehovas Witnesses, and luke-warm Christians. What's even more delightful about Flame is, like his Cross Movement friends, he isn't afraid to quote directly from the Bible and the truth it entails. The result is masterful. It also helps having some extremely well-thought out beats and electronica to go with his insightful words.
Flame also takes on a common theme that Cross Movement and DA Truth seem to be hitting with every record - that the world is not worth being apart of and that the only hope for any individual is total spiritual rebellion on the world and complete trust in Christ. How many other Christian artists are confident enough to brave this concept with such delightful frequency?

A definite buy! Flame is hard! Hard enough to win secular appeal. His rhyming stlye sounds hardcore, but the lyrics are clean and unmistakebly Christian (there goes secular appeal: no airplay for Flame). The beats were tight and the producers seemed to pick the right ones for Flame's stlye. I enjoyed this first release!

This whole album is awesome. As far as the lyrics and the beats go. When He's flowin' he's talking about something (JESUS!!!). From the roota to da toota. I love it.

Help....I can't take it out of my CD player ;),

This is such an incredible album....there isn't much more I can say to really bring it justice. Of course, what would you expect from the Cross movement camp...Praise God for these cats and their ministry, not too mention the newly signed artists..Da' Truth and now Flame. In this Hip Hop culture of today...we need leaders on the frontline who are UNMATCHED (and they are!!!) The Cross movement, Da' truth and Flame are such leaders.
The newest release by Flame is what I'd expect from the Cross movement camp... unbelievably annointed and inspiring ! I challenge you secular listeners to buy the album and prepare to bob your head but also prepare to be ministered too greatly. I promise no buyers remorse here...with tracks such as; "Videos", "like Christ", "Godman", "Ladies", "how long","Open my heart" and "Righteous"...you will find plenty of songs to play over and over again...for real! Blending the midwest feel (ie. Nelly, Chingy)with some East coast flava. Now living in Florida...I hear more of that sound than I had in Philly. I can truly say that Flame (like Da' truth and C.M.) are UNMATCHED. Because of my job (record producer), I have to keep up with what is "Hot" out there and I have no problem going on the record saying, "Flame's album is a MUST to own". like Da' Truth...Flame's album is one of the BEST HIP HOP ALBUMS OUT THERE ! including secualr one's. I'm looking forward to the next release in 2 weeks...Cross movement's "Higher Definition".

Finally!!,

Finally a real Christian Hip Hop Album! I've heard other decent Christian hip-hop albums...Grits, Ill Harmonics, KJ-52, etc. But none compare to the flow, content and beats of Flame. I'm an avid Hip-Hop fan, but Christian Hip-Hop hasn't come into its own, until now! I can honestly say that I have put away all my 2Pac, Eminem, Nas, DMX, etc. since this CD came out. I have high hopes for the record label (Cross Movement Records) and will be giving all the artists a listen to due to this CD.

Best rap album for years,
By
This review is from: Flame (Audio CD)
I have many years been a fan of rap.
and as christian it's difficult to find good rap. CM is ok but since Enoch left they are not the same. Da truth is ok also phanatic. But I tell you this is the best release from cross movement records since Ambassador's Christology. This is west coast. The beats are good sometimes very thought. (in the song limelight ou notice his close relationship with Da truth because this beats reminds very much of one of his songs). The rap are very aggressiv. the lyrics are awesome very radical and on fire for Jesus. This is the best christian rap album it beats even T-bones the Last street preacher wich has been my favorite rap album for some years now. i'm looking forward to Flame's new album that comes in the autumn until then we have this great rap album.

FLAME IS HOTTER THE HEAT COMING FROM YOUR STOVE. HE HAS LYRICS AS WELL AS BEATS. HE FLOWS ABOUT CHRIST BETTER THAN KANYE WEST. JESUS NOT ONLY WALKS WITH HIM. HE TALKS THROUGH HIM.

lives what he preaches,
By
This review is from: Flame (Audio CD)
knowing marcus, i think what impresses me the most is that he lives what he talks about in his songs. he is honest, direct, but so humble as well. he is actually excited about God, go figure! how many "Christians" are really just infatuated with Christian culture? well, marcus keeps it real. seriously. i love the guy, personally. if you want a kick in the butt, namely some conviction, get this album and listen carefully and honestly.
