Too much at once, an ok method sorta but there's better,

I don't recommend this to anyone. Dennis Koster's "Keys to Flamenco", Juan Serrano's basic book, Juan Martin's method, Anita Sheer's, Gerhard Graf-Martinez... all these other authors wrote books that have better method content. None are perfect and you can benefit from exposure to many ideas. The author of this Hal Leanord Flamenco book is clearly talented. The CD recordings are superb. But the method just doesn't teach all that well.
The jam stuff is somewhat unique. The overall exposure to the style is great. But anyone advanced will kinda go through this quick and not get that much from it, while anyone more beginning will struggle because the ideas aren't developed that much before it moves on to much harder content. Contents: after skimming the basics this just jumps in with very modern, awesome sounding complex stuff taught basically by rote with tab brief history notable historical players starts with basic Am-G-E-F but w/ bars, whereas there are easier ways to get started 12-count system sorta Malagueña thing p or p-i melody slurs tiny soleares bit Arpeggios longer sorta Malagueña rasgueado start bits of ideas that are too much at once w/out explanation picado bits short Soleá bits golpe Alzapúa tremolo Farruca Tarantas (quite nice really, sounds complex but isn't really) Classical stuff: Albéniz' Seville, Leyenda B phrygian scale improv jam-tracks really in Em Tango (complex rhythm guitar plus lead guitar, also jam track) Rumba Additional Solea/taranta phrase bits
