5.0 out of 5 stars Suicidal Final Art May 10, 2010
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
It is such a shame that I missed out on watching At the Gates in concert for the first time in 12 years and last time ever. For those of us that missed that show, Earache records has released this 3 DVD set including the history of the band all the way to their reunion show in 2008.It is very interesting to see where the bands came from and know a bit more of how the Gothenberg scene came to be in the early 90's.Plenty of cameos and references from people like Mikeal Stanne from Dark Tranquillity and the guys from Municipal Waste. Also their 2008 concert filmed at the wacken open air festival in Germany. It even has a third disc including earlier and rawer footage of the band. I loved the flip booklet and the design alot. I got all of this for just 18 dollars. It was a great buy and I'm very pleased. Everyday before I go to work I throw it on and watch "Slaughter of the Soul" and "Raped by the light of Christ". You will be missed dearly my friends and the impact that you left on the world of metal will not soon be forgotten.

For any huge at the gates fan this dvd collection is a great buy. This contains a documentary on the band, a concrete performed at the Wacken and other misc live footage. The wacken show looks and sounds great and will delight any fan of the band. The other live footage is hit and miss but still worth it. The documentary is overall kind of amateur and poorly made but can be fun for a fan although not very captivating and a little boring. The booklet is a nice touch.

OVERALL: If you love at the gates then get this! If you kind of like them the hey, it's $10 for some great old school metal, go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Flames of the End! September 27, 2010

This DVD is amazing and is packed with so much material. The 2-hour documentary is very well detailed showing us the band in there early years all the way to there reunion, they even tell us the story's behind the artwork of the album's. 2 other disc with live footage form Waken Open Air 08 and other gigs around the world, Music videos, Interviews and more. the majority of the DVD (especially in the documentary) is in Swedish, so if you hate reading subtitles you may have a problem. that being said it does not ruin what is an incredible experience. If you are a fan of At The Gates then there's no reason you should pass is up!
