About the Author

David Walker David Walker began his formal journey into D/s in 1980. As a corporate trainer he often traveled to southern California and San Francisco where he was introduced to the BDSM lifestyle. As an educational developer he has both authored and taught BDSM programs for local, regional and national meetings and conferences. David Walker is a founding member of SAADE (School for Advanced American Dominant Education) and an emeritus member of its Tribal Council. He currently is the executive director for the Council of Tribes network of BDSM clubs in Texas and the founder of the Austin Mentors program. The year-long Austin Mentors Program provides in-depth training For those who are serious about their personal development in the lifestyle. He continues as a mentor and teaches both Ethics in the Lifestyle and Fire Play basics. Corwin Corwin, an erotic and fetish photographer was introduced to fire play in December, 2001 as part of the training course offered by the Austin Mentor’s program. It was love at first flash, and over the next year he continued to practice and expand his knowledge of this form of play. In 2003, Corwin was himself invited to be one of the Mentors that provide training in this year-long program. At that point, he began teaching fire play – eight times a year. Corwin has continued this teaching ever since, adding fire play “magic tricks” as he can find (and master) them. Within his local BDSM community, Corwin has served as a board member of the National Leather Association – Austin Chapter, and as a Council Member for SAADE – School for Advanced American Dominance Education. More About the Author

Robert (Bob) Rubel is an educational sociologist by traininig (which is why you find some of his old books on here dealing with crime prevention in public schools). He has been heavily involved in the world of alternative sexuality since 2001, throwing himself into the literature of the field as though it were an academic study. He frequently attends weekend conferences in this field, where he is a presenter (generally on topics related to Master/slave relations, Leather protocols, fire play, and how to pleasure a woman).

Flames of Passion: Handbook of Erotic Fire Play is a concise, well documented, well photographed study in the art of playing with fire. It answers the most basic questions, as well as addressing some of the more advanced ones. It's a recipe for some wonderfully erotic play!

This book grew out of Walker and Rubel's many fire play demos they have done; the tone of the writing is very much in this vein of speaking to an audience. The photographs also demonstrate things they discuss. However it is not a training manual so please do not confuse reading this book with learning how to do fire play -- it really is something you need to learn and practice over and over with someone skilled in this area (something that Walker and Rubel repeatedly state). Nor is this a book on all types of fire play, only on dry-body fire play. Read this book to learn a bit and help you decide if you should seek out an expert to learn from.

This book breaks it all down and makes learning basic fire play easy. While there is nothing simple about any form of edge play, you will find learning from this book to be fun and easy. Thanks to the authors for such great research and photo's. And my subs thank you too!
