5.0 out of 5 stars marvelous narrative and illustrations, December 7, 2010

This review is from: In Flanders Fields: The Story of the Poem by John McCrae (Hardcover)
A marvelous telling of the story behind one of the best and most poignant war poems ever written. The illustrations are stunning. I used it in my high school history lesson on Veteran's Day and the students were spellbound.

5.0 out of 5 stars ......................, February 27, 2010
This review is from: In Flanders Fields: The Story of the Poem by John McCrae (Hardcover)
I just entered the dots to start my review, because this little poem is so self explanatory, spontaneous and genuine. I really do not know what to say about, I can feel the pain of being a soldiers in Flanders in WW1, but also feel the peace of the resting soldiers that never left Flanders. Lili Marlene is a symbol for the dreams of a WW2 soldier, this poem is the same for WW1.

I think In Flander's Fields is an exception book for November 11th

I also highly recommend Shattered by Eric Peters for teen age readers.
