5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful read
This is a wonderful read, you start out with the Flash going ot his grandfathers place and while looking at his old pictres he thinks back to his first year as "Kid Flash". And that's where the story takes place, it shows you how he got his powers and his adventures with the Flash (then Barry Allen) facing people like mirror master. I just love this story...

3.0 out of 5 stars Meet Wally West!!
This collection looking into the early days of Wally West as both Kid Flash and then just Flash is a fun read. The art, except for Humberto Ramos, really holds up over time and the story is decent but hokey. The overall collection is a little weak but it is what it is, an introduction to a great character.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended!, May 13, 2005
This review is from: The Flash: Born to Run (Paperback)
This graphic novel tells the story of Wally West, who first became Kid Flash, and the lessons he learned that would prepare him to one day take over the Flash mantle. Overall, I found this to be a very good graphic novel, and a worthy addition to my Flash library. It covers everything from Wally's transformation on, but not up to the death of Barry Allen.

The stories were uniformly great, and the illustration work was mostly great. The fly in the ointment is the Kid Flash: Day Two story, in which the people are drawn in a disturbingly caricature-like manner that really helps break down the believability.

But, that said, it is a very good Flash graphic-novel, one that I highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent History Review, October 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Flash: Born to Run (Paperback)
If, like me, you're a newcomer to the Flash fandom, this book is a good review of how Wally got his powers, and what forces helped shape him into the person he became. However, the stories really don't go too deep into young Wally's psyche, and alot of questions are left unanswered. The art is so-so. Most of it is very traditional comic book art, which isn't my cup of tea. I prefer more contemperorary art and manga-style art. But that's just my personal taste.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and ligthing reading !, June 11, 2000
This review is from: The Flash: Born to Run (Paperback)
If you love Flash, you can't miss this saga. Almost everything you want to know about Wally West first years, as a Scarlet Speedster, is here. But the best part isn't past memories: you will finish it, and you wanna read more... it's seems a thunder can strike twice in the same place!

3.0 out of 5 stars The Slowest Read for the Fastest Man, January 10, 2004
This review is from: The Flash: Born to Run (Paperback)
Haven't we been here before? If you're not up on who the Flash is (Wally West's Flash) then it might be worth your time to pick this up. There's just no new ground covered here. It's a decent introduction to Wally, but nothing terribly interesting or groundbreaking.
