Here's what people are saying about the books from Brenda Ponnay a.k.a Blogger Secret Agent Josephine:

“The Blonde Tornado LOVED the books (especially the ABC's) and asks to play with them on my phone repeatedly. She worked with them on the airplane and loves reading them together ... the animals are so adorable and creative. The colors are bright and cheerful and the books are just fun” - Inside Dog

“A true hit and the girls loved the funny pictures, the bright colours and Avelyn especially loved that she was able to read the Alphabet Book all by herself!” - Kickyboots

“With illustrations that truly pop, the pages in this children’s book are just begging to be framed.” - Heather Sanders on The Pioneer Woman

The ABCs burst brilliantly on to the page in this alphabet flash card book by blogger Secret Agent Josephine, a.k.a. Brenda Ponnay. Children will delight in the colorful illustrations and simple text.

Editorial Reviews

I really wish Brenda's books were around when my now eight-year was younger.  I just know he would have spent hours swiping the pages back and forth on our iPad, quietly soaking up at her artwork." Alpha Mom

1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading Title January 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded this book because it was free. If I had paid for it, I would be a bit irritated. Ok, yes it was illustrated. A is for Apple, B is for get the idea. The words were in REALLY tiny print next to a big A or B and were not adjustable, being a part of the illustration and not seperate. Also, there was no Agent Josephine. I would expect a children's book that calls itself A Secret Agent Adventure, to have a secret agent and an adventure. The illustrations were nice but overall the story was lacking. It provided nothing new to the usual ABC picture book. I will think twice before downloading aother Secret Agent Josephine Adventure...unless the mystery is, where is Josephine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book and learning tool! May 11, 2012

Well done, nice quality, brightly colored graphics! Each letter includes an object that begins with that letter - most of these are everyday items (animals, food, etc) that young children can easily identify.

Love the idea of using these over the traditional paper flashcards which seem to always be tattered or missing cards. The only thing I miss being able to do is to 'mix up the stack' to give your child more of a challenge. I suppose you could just hit the point button at the bottom and show whatever comes up sporadically, it just seems sort of awkward to do so. Of course, this is also a great book for getting started and becoming familiar with letters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Secret Agent February 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a wonderfully illustrated book of ABCs. I have to admit I always like to see a frog for F (they had a fishy) and I think it was creative to use Jellyfish, Newt, Octopus, Pumpkin things that aren't usually used. The colorful items that go with the letters make it a great book to share together. Would love to see more Secret Agent Josephine

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful addition to my iPhone July 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm a new iPhone user, and this is the first e-book I've ever purchased/downloaded. I "tested" it out with my 2.5-year-old son, whose face just lit up as we flipped through the colorful and easy-to-understand alphabet cards. He knew most of the letters (he mixes up K and Q!), and almost all of the associated images, too. When we were done, he immediately asked if we could "do it 'gain, Mama!" Before playing with the cards, he didn't know the word "jellyfish," but on the second go-through, he remembered it!

What a delightful collection of ABC flashcards, and a delightful addition to my iPhone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Alphabet E-Cards July 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've admired Brenda Ponnay's alphabet cards since she first posted the art on her blog several years ago. I was a little apprehensive about a Kindle version, since half the fun of her art is the COLOR, but even in black and white these sweet illustrations are cute and charming. Five stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and SWEET July 12, 2011
By Kim
Format:Kindle Edition
We had the alphabet cards for learning the ABCs from way back when from Brenda's website. The ebook is so familiar for my daughter and now that she knows all the letters, she's branching out to the other things she can learn from the adorable illustrations for each letter. Learning the sounds, the words, the spelling of them, she loves flipping through the e-pages to each one. And her favorites, the M for her name and the E for her sister! The best part, we won't lose these, bend them, tear them, color on them, and we can take them EVERYWHERE for her. She's already started sharing it with her one-year old sister and trying to teach her the letters and shapes and colors. The vibrant and cute illustrations make it so fun to "learn" that it doesn't seem like a task to the kids at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Alphabet Book July 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Secret Agent Josephine's ABCs (Learn with Secret Agent Josephine)Having three kids, we've seen a lot of alphabet books. This book quickly became a favorite for a few reasons.
Being digital, I know the pages will all stay intact, so that's the first great thing about it. The illustrations are fantastic! I bought it for my 2 year old, but his 5 & 8 year old sisters love it just as much. It's a lot more original & fun than a lot of books we've seen. I think my favorite part is Q is for quetzal; I'd love to have that letter framed in our homeschool classroom!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing February 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's a cute ABC book with cute illustrations, don't get me wrong, but with that exciting title, I guess I expected something way more interesting and unique. But no, it's just another book with a picture for A, a picture for B, a picture for C. And not even ones that are themaically related to spies or anything. Just an average ABC book, nothing more. It's too bad. Josephine the Secret Agent could have been a fun theme for the ABCs!

More About the Author

Mother by day, Secret Agent by night! Or at least that's what I've been telling everyone on the internet for the last five years. The reality is I juggle motherhood and a bustling graphic design and illustration business all day long and deep into the night. The lines are blurred and that is what makes me a Secret Agent or a super hero, either one.

My daughter is my muse and she creeps into my art in the most unexpected ways (sometimes literally).
