Product Description

Color: Navy Blue

Regain your body's natural posture with this ergonomic kneeling chair with reclining back. The Reclining Back feature allows you to work in a sitting position or lie back in a more relaxed position. Kneeling chairs sit you in a position to allow your diaphragm to move efficiently and promote better breathing and blood circulation. Use as your permanent office chair or to take a break from your conventional chair.

This chair is very comfortable.

Maybe after getting used to using it, things will change - others have said as much - but colour me dubious.

My back pain has let up somewhat, but now my knees hurt and are growing callouses.

I had a chair like this previously when I worked in a doctor's office. I liked how it made computer work less painful on my back, so I searched Amazon for a kneeling chair & found this one with the backrest (the backrest was more for my husband than me) for my home.

Having had experience with this type of chair previously made me prepared for the fact that you have to build up a tollerance for sitting in it. Because you have to use your abdominals & back muscles for support, most will find it uncomfortable on their shins for about a week or two, until your body becomes accustomed to placing your weight properly. Afterwards you will be able to sit for longer periods because you will learn to draw from your abdominals. The gentleman in the previous review stated that there isn't enough padding. I assure you that you will not be aware of this in a week or two. You will it has just the right amount. NO matter how much padding this chair has (or any other kneeling chair has), you will not be prepared to sit this way, so it will be your natural inclination to put most of your weight on your legs. Until you are get used to sitting in it properly, I recommend taking one leg off & placing it on the floor to give your shin a rest. Then replace it to the knee pad & remove the other shin to the floor. You can also add a pillow to the knee rest for a few days. You may want to have your previous chair available as you alternate too for small breaks. It seems like a lot of work, (afterall, no one has evet had to teach you to sit in an office chair) but your back will eventually thank you for the effort after a few weeks. I am a fitness instructor & personal trainer and I can tell you that even I have difficulty getting accustomed to this type of sitting at first.

The blue isn't as nice and bright as it is in the photograph.. It's more like a navy color in real life, but the chair is a godsend on my back and it's even perfect for meditational sitting. The adjustable back is great! Wish the color was like in the photo, but otherwise a great buy.

Update: I've been using this chair now for over 2 years and it's still in perfect condition. The only thing I have noticed with this chair is that during my time having owned it I realize that it's not really suitable for people with short legs. Though the seat is adjustable in hieght, the Angle of the knee rest is NOT adjustable. So if say you have a 31 inch inseam, you're either going to have to take it back or get creative with a drill and a piece of wood to manipulate the angle of the knee rest. Due to hieght/leg length issues women are probably more likely to be sending this item back than men. Otherwise It's lasted hours and hours of daily wear for the last 2 years with zero problems and still going strong.

I got this kneeling chair a month ago and have come to the conclusion that it's just an uncomfortable ride and there's no way around it. I got mine because of low back pain that was exacerbated by the old chair.

First: the padding in the kneeler is inadequate at best. The wooden frame makes itself known after just a few minutes and after an hour my knees are screaming. I'm not all that big either - 5'9", 165 lbs. It'd probably be more uncomfortable for people bigger and heavier than me. Also, my aching knees are continuously sliding forward on the kneeler and I have to wiggle back up every couple of minutes. This is because the kneeler nearly parallels the floor - it needs more of an upward angle but it can't be adjusted.

The seat has problems too. It's pretty hard and in my case at least needs to be a little more parallel to the floor - but it can't be adjusted either. The back rest is adjustable but it has only three settings - none of which fit me. There's a high/low adjuster underneath the seat that I've monkey'd with a dozen times but to no avail. It just trades one discomfort for another. My back pain has let up somewhat, but now my knees hurt and are growing callouses. Getting up to walk after an hour or two in this thing has me feeling like I'm 90 years old.

In a nutshell here's what's wrong: we're not all the same size! To make it comfortable the kneeler and seat need more padding and some way to individually adjust them. In my case the back rest is pretty much useless, except as a head rest when using the chair as a recliner.

If you're anywhere near my size I highly recommend you not buy this. Shell out the extra $$$ for a better kneeling chair. One that you can personalize to your body... with thicker padding. It hasn't been too expensive a mistake but I'm looking for something else.

I bought this chair after seeing a similar one years ago at an office supply store. I have had the chair for a week and still cannot get it adjusted right. I am not sure if it is because I am 6ft tall. However, my biggest complaint is that when I started assembling the chair I saw sticker saying the weight limit for this chair is 200lbs, even in my prime I am 220lbs. This weight limit should have been one of the first items listed in the product description. This makes the 2nd product I have purchased through Amazon in just as many weeks I am not too happy with.
