5.0 out of 5 stars Flash Gordon: The Lion Men of Mongo, July 10, 2009
This review is from: Flash Gordon: The Lion Men of Mongo (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first Flash Gordon novel of the six novels by Alex Raymond. The first novel starts off with Flash Gordon, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov crash landing on the planet Mongo. There, the planet is ruled by the evil tyrant emperor, Ming the Merciless. Ming's soldiers capture Dale after the crash and Ming decides to make Dale his bride. So Flash and Dr. Zarkov are out to stop the wedding. As they adventure on Mongo, they make a few a friends and come to understand that the people of Mongo don't like Ming very much, but were unable to rebel against the tyrant because they couldn't stay organized and work together. But Flash and Zarkov solve that and they are able to cause a rebellion against Ming. This is a great science fiction/ fantasy novel and has plenty of action. Also it's easy to read and keeps you interested from start to finish, speaking from a seventeen year old's point of view. I found this novel to entertaining and just a great read. I liked it so much, that decided to get the rest of the novels in the series. I hope you found my review helpful in some way. I enjoyed writing this review.
