This Flash Photo Umbrella Mount supports a flash and a photo umbrella and attaches to the ALZO Flip Flash Bracket or any light stand. The locking tilt mechanism moves speedlight and umbrella together, and the insulated hot shoe mount allows for flash triggering with a synch cord. The 1/4" x 20 screw securely fastens screw base flash units.

This is the only stand/umbrella holder I could find that will screw into the bottom of the Sony flash units. The Sony flash shoe won't fit into the normal shoe base so this is your best choice. The unit is smaller than you'd think, but solid and well made. The bolts and threaded female receivers are all metal, not plastic, so I think it will hold up well.

A solid mount. I probably like the photoflex slightly more because of the ease of adjustment, but this one is good.

The whole body is made from pretty heavy aluminum, in fact the only plastic part is the mount screw head.

The elbow is done exceptionally well. The screw has a strong spring inside which always hold some tension on the elbow and it never becomes completely lose. Having said that, don't expect it to hold an umbrella when unscrewed. The tightening doesn't require any effort at all because of the deep ridges on both sides in the elbow. The moment the screw is far enough for ridges to separate, you can reposition the elbow. Turn the screw just a little bit and it locks the elbow dead solid. I'm very happy about this construction.

The flash mount has a plastic cover at the bottom to prevent damaging the flash shoe and shortening out the circuits. There's also a small stop to prevent the flash falling out from the other side.

The umbrella hole is quite large and should be able to accommodate any kind of umbrellas. However, it does seem a bit too large for your regular type of umbrella because there's quite a bit of slack on the angle.

The mount comes with a light stand adapter for big and small size (on the opposite end) screw mount.

I bought these to replace cheap eBay plastic mounts and I'm very happy with the purchase.
