Soap opera star Kenzie Stafford is back in Santa Rey to mourn her dead firefighter brother and clear his name. There is just no way that the brother she loves could have been an arsonist and murderer. Too bad that firefighter Aidan Donnelly keeps getting in her way. He is the man who broke her heart six years ago. And she is not going to let that happen again. No way. This time its Kenzie who is going to be the one to wave bye bye just as soon as she finds out whose behind those explosive fires.

Awesome book! This is why I read Blaze. Sizzling hot characters that melt the pages and a well paced action plot that had me hooked from page one. And this one has an unrequited love story which one of my favorites. All this conveniently packaged in 230pages or less.

Love the characters here; Aidan is a too die for hunky hero who realizes quickly the huge mistake he made by letting Kenzie years ago. And he'll take anything she can give him and more. Kenzie needs to open up her heart again and allow the only other man besides her brother back in. And Aidan is just the man to show her how to love again even if she throws it back in his face.

Flashback is the second in the firefighter? series. I didn't read the previous one in the series Flashpoint (Harlequin Blaze) but you don't have too. A great stand alone book for some HOT summer romance reading.

I don't summarize stories in my reviews because you can read the description for the general idea. Plus, I don't like to give away too much if someone wants to read it. Having grown up down a fire house because of a fireman father, with several uncles and now cousins that are fireman, and a fireman husband, Jill totally captured their true mentality. But made them even hotter! I really loved the back and forth of Kenzie's emotions about Aidan. It was kind of nice to see a guy on the other side for a change. But I also loved that Aidan wasn't able to hold back and let her know his true feelings.

The twist at the end blew me away. I started to suspect who the mystery man was but that wasn't the only surprise. Like another reviewer, I read this one before the first, Flashpoint. I bought them at the same time but didnt' realize I started with the second. If you love fireman, and hot romance drama, you will love Jill Shalvis' world. Now, off to read Flashpoint!!!

Adian Donnelly and MacKenzie Stafford spent a glorious summer together six years ago, but he got scared and broke her heart. She moved away and hasn't seen him since. Kenzie returns to clear her dead brothers name for crimes she doesn't believe he could have committed. Adian doesn't know she's back until he rescues her from a burning boat. Will they be able to rekindle the love they once shared? Or has that dream gone up in flames? This one is a real scorcher!

Aidan Donnelly has always been a love `em and leave `em kind of guy. That is with one exception, that one is his best friend's sister Kenzie. He ran like hell as she scared him to death. He was afraid that she was going to tie him down and have the 2.5 kids etc., and he was convinced that was not for him.

Suddenly, Aidan rescues a gorgeous woman from a boat fire and yup, as luck would have it is Kenzie. Now seeing Kenzie again as well as still reeling from the recent death of her brother, now Aidan realizes that he is not the same scared kid he was years ago.

It appears that Kenzie is here to not only clear her brother's name for the arson he was accused of, and that killed him, but she is going to tromp on Aidan's heart. Aidan comes to the conclusion as long as she is safe she can have his heart, but will she believe him?

Get the fire extinguisher ready Ms. Shalvis is back with her smoking hot firefighters from Santa Rey. In Flashback, Mr. 2008 also known as Aiden is the one who will determine what is really important in his life this time around. Ms. Shalvis is not new to the sensual writing arena and clearly shows this when she has her main characters interact. I also found the ongoing plot (though the book would have been fine as a stand alone) line of arson to keep my interest and make me want more. Each of the characters is well written and the plot line is nicely woven to create an overall enjoyable novel. If you are a fan of firefighter romance novels then you need to pick up Flashback and plan on a smokin' hot read.

loved it....jill shalvis is a new fav...if you like robin kaye you will like ms. shalvis.

I've read better Blaze stories. This was a little too corny and sappy. Very predictable story line with main characters.
