Wild experience. My son prefers factual books. Monster Trucks. Big book of Trains but maybe because there aren't any words and therefore a story isn't being told to him he can make up his own , he really got into it. He named all the characters, told us about their attributes. It was astonishing. I haven't seen him behave like this with a book. He wanted to know if there were more like this. I wouldn't have thought it would work and yet it did. So cool!

Beautiful wordless picture book that will bring back your childhood memories of playing in the dark (as an adult reader), or delight children with its detail! The young girl explores the dark with her flashlight, finding new plants and creatures on each page and casting her flashlight's beam of light on them. Children will want to pore over the illustrations and find new creatures each time. The cut-outs on each page also give a sneak peek of what's to come. Fantastic wordless picture book - highly recommend!!

A magical book! The yard at night is alive with friendly creatures of all kinds! Your young reader can name what the flash light catches in its beam & what it doesn't & you can draw out their thoughts of just what DOES happen….outside … in the dark?!

I love when a wordless picture book is done really well! The illustrations in this book have such a story to tell! It is cool how Ms. Boyd draws the night scenes with very little color (just a splash here and there) – except where the flashlight beams. What will the MC see?
Another cool thing is that you don’t know if the MC is a boy or girl. When I read the book, I was thinking the MC is a boy, but other reviewers think the MC is a girl.
You can look through the book several times and keep picking out little details and see all that the MC is missing in his little flashlight beam! There are little cut outs on the pages that ties the pages into each other. flashlight2 The story has some humor too. At one point the woodland creatures get a hold of the flashlight and they get a turn. Soon the MCs woodland buddies get him tucked back into bed.
This is a very cool book. :) *NOTE* I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

This is a delightful book for any chill with a curiosity about the outdoors--and that's every child! I gave this book to a 3yo along with a small flashlight, and she was thrilled! Better than any toy she had.

We bought this book for our granddaughter's second birthday. Reports are that not only she but her parents also love reading the book and do so frequently. We gave it with a small but strong flashlight.

My two year old son loves this book. There are no words, which makes it perfect for reading at bedtime with lights out and just his flashlight shining on the pages. The story follows a little boy and his adventure through the woods meeting different animals along the way. Since there are no words we can read it a little differently each time, and now my son even helps tell the story.

Had a ball with my granddaughters making up a story with the pictures. We made a tent using our flashlights. It was such a great bonding time. The book instilled great imagination
