Well, what a surprise. This zoom goes so narrow that it reproduces an almost perfect image of the chip that emits the light! I own 4 of these mini lights (not the same brands) and this one will throw the most powerful beam the longest distance! My one complaint is that the zoom is a slider and it slides a bit too easily.
I have not used this on a bike, but I suspect it will be perfect for that application.

Put this up against your friends small LEDs and blow them away!

Came with a 18650 battery extension mounted (removable to allow 3 ea AAA), a lanyard, a 3-AAA battery barrel.

Is an Off/On-only type as described, and has beam focus via sliding bezel fore/aft.

I'm using just the AAA battery adapter to power and find it throws a generous sharp beam ...

Inexpensive, reliable torch here.

After using this steadily for 2 months on my bike - as my main headlight - there's some definite good and definite bad. Let's start out with the good:

- Light is bright, and throws pretty uniform light across the whole range.
- Zoom is nice feature, when needed.
- Light is pretty durable.
- Holder clicks when swiveling light side to side.

Now to the bad:

- Front bezel (that you push and pull for the zoom) gets looser over time. Not enough to accidentally zoom on its own, but enough to make it feel cheap.
- Lens retaining ring on the front works its way loose. I tried to fix this using just a little grease, no go. Ended up using blue loctite.
- Holder is cheap. The axle holding the top part to the bottom part is made from a hollow brass tube that's crimped on both ends to keep it in. That's held in place inside a plastic tube around which is the retainer spring that clicks in grooves when you swivel it side to side. The plastic part of it apparently snapped a few weeks ago (The light was wobbling a little, which was the first indication). Finally, tonight, the whole thing just fell off, clattering on the ground. Luckily it wasn't so dark that I couldn't find my way the rest of the way home.

This thing is cheap enough to make the purchase solely for the flashlight worth it (well, maybe not now that dealextreme has a US warehouse - no more 3-4 week shipping from Hong Kong!), but don't buy this for the holder, it's cheap and practically worthless, if you're looking for a headlamp holder that will hold up to daily riding.

5 stars for the flashlight, 1 star for the holder.

I've owned half a dozen different LED flashlights, and each one has disappointed me in some way, until this one. It's the brightest one I've ever owned, but the simple design is what I like best. You just slide the front bezel in or out to focus the beam instead of twisting it. In its fully extended position (about 1/4 inch out) the lens focuses the light from the LED so perfectly you can see the actual shape of the LED chip on the surface you are shining at.

If I shine this light at my sidewalk in broad sunlight I can still see the illuminated spot.

Wow, this thing is intense! I bought 5 of these. They all work great (once I managed to assemble the 3 AAA's correctly in the cartridge). I opted for the single-mode version because; it was a couple of bucks cheaper, I figured it would be one less thing to go wrong with it, and I didn't think a half-power or blink setting would be useful. Turns out the half-power setting would be more appropriate for use inside of a house or other close work because full intensity can be a bit much.

The webpage clearly stated it comes with an extension to accept an 18650 battery. It did not and had to return for a refund.

Nice and bright. I attached it to my trekking pole for neighborhood walks. Flashing feature is what I use the most.

I bought this for a stocking stuffer for my wife. I didn't getaround to opening the package until months later. The flashlight didn't work at all. Wasted $11.
