George MacDonald Fraser must be the most un-recognised great British author - why has he not been honoured? Every Flashman book is just non-stop genius in the way the reader is totally convinced Flashman simply must have been there - and this book is one of the best with Flashman virtually riding alongside Captain Nolan on that fateful day - he must have been there, yes?
