Rousing, historically-based tale of English in India,
By A Customer
This review is from: Flashman in the Great Game (Charnwood Library Series) (Hardcover)
Wonderful, rousing, and educational - you have to read this with a bookmark in the footnotes section, and you'll probably enjoy doing so - the historical research Fraser does is astounding, and exposes much of the hypocrisy of John Company's stay in "Indja".

Great history of the Great Game,

This review is from: Flashman in the Great Game (Paperback)
What with laughing out loud, snorting in amusement, and continually chuckling, there isn't much time left to admire George MacDonald Fraser's astonishing imagination and craftmanship as he weaves Flashman into the fabric of history. Every book in the series is laugh-out-loud funny plus a great education in many things ... but especially the British Empire.
