Indian meals are often eaten when family members are gathered. Indian families design their meal plans around the preferences and schedules of all family members. This value of sharing meals with family is a very important Indian tradition. It is the women who traditionally prepare the meals for the entire household.
Cutlery is not traditionally used in Indian culture. Food for them is supposed to be a sensory experience. And so, Indians enjoy their rice, curries, and breads by picking them up with their clean hands. Their wide variety of breads already serves as spoons for scooping up the sauces, curries, and rice. Breads can also be dipped into stews and soups such as daal (lentil-based soup).
Indians, similar to other societies, enjoy three main meals a day. People in India eat a morning meal, followed by a mid-day meal, and lastly, an evening meal. For them, the evening meal is the biggest one, followed by the mid-day meal. When they are not consuming rice, curries, or breads, they eat fruits and vegetables.
Modern Indian families however are now using cutlery more often, especially spoons. Featured here is flatware cutlery consisting of a slotted spoon, rice spoon, serving spoon, table spoon, spade spoon, and a golchi spoon. The handles are made of stainless steel but sport the look and feel of bamboo. This flatware cutlery set can be used for any meal, especially when you want to achieve an ethnic touch to your Indian cuisine for family and friends.
