Don't Fight the Flavor,
By
This review is from: Flavor Flav (Audio CD)
I had the same reaction at first, but Flav won me over. U gotta feel him -- he's putting everything he has into it, unlike the average artist who serves up the same prepackaged poses. For that reason alone I think the jointz he's singin on are the realest stuff on the album. plus, he "bringz tha noise" on a few cuts for the PE fans. Flav a joke? don't believe tha hype, boyyeee...

Flavor Flav - Hollywood,
This review is from: Flavor Flav (Audio CD)
I grew up on Public Enemy and loved the contrast between the straight-man Chuck D and the goofball Flavor Flav. So my friend let me listen to Flav's new looooong overdue solo record. Presumably, the only reason this got released was because of his success with VH1's Flavor of Love.
The album starts out with Flav singing! This is hilariously entertaining. The second song sounds like it was made 10 years ago because it's Flav rapping like he used to in his Public Enemy days. The album has this rushed feel to it. None of the songs really go together. The album is a mix of his old solo records that never got released from about ten years ago (his harder rapping), and his newer funner, more comedic side. The album clocks in at 77 minutes long, which is waaaaay too long. I found myself skipping ahead through almost all of the songs. The could have cut out a lot of it and still not lost the effect. The newer stuff is downright funny - a 10 on the unintentional comedy scale. I would say it's gawdawful, but in a fun, hilarious, stupid kind of way. It was an enjoyable listen - a good laugh. But I don't think I would spend my money on this.

flav was supposed to make a solo album around 90-91 when pe was at the top of their game but don't know if drug issues or griff's anti semitic remarks or unknown foerces was against it anyway flav now a reality tv star decides to milk his newfound fame to the dust and yes it's a funny cd it would be better if it came out in the early nineties it might have went gold.

Worst Music I've Ever Purchased,
This review is from: Flavor Flav (Audio CD)
This is the Worst Music I've Ever Purchased and I love music, especially hip hop. Flav was great back in the day as crowd exciter with PE. However, this album just tries way to hard to be awesome and it just isn't.

Flavor Flav is Entertaining!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Flavor Flav (Audio CD)
My product came very fast and was in excellent condition. I will definately purchase from this seller again! Flavor Flav's album came with 20 tracks and a bonus track. His singing is not so good and his rapping skills are a little lacking, but he gets an A for effort. His lyrics are pretty hilarious and the album is overall entertaining. If you're not a true Flav fan I don't recommend that you buy this, you'd probably find it annoying.

The Bachelor of Love!!,

This review is from: Flavor Flav (Audio CD)
The first black bachelor on real television, he did an awesome job on this cd consider the fact that he has not made an lp since public enemy and now adays you sure don't find too many artist that can sit and do a non-studio version, yeah we say other cd's are good but you take away the studio and mixing and what sound do you have? His worth while tracks are #6, and 13 thru 19 he could have left off number 20, but all n all this is a great come back no phoney stuff just the flav we have all grown to resepect, love and like.

This aint the Flav from PE. If he learns to balance the crazy with a little more integrity, at least the old school fans can get into it. But this record is about having fun and Flav lets loose. Hey, if Outkast can put out Love Below and Idlewood: there's still room for Flav.

This was a Christmas present. I am really not into that kind of music, but the girl that received it really loved it.
