Very nice book!
I don't usually write reviews, but when I saw that this book had only one review, and it's an unfavorable one at that, I had to chime in. As the book's subtitle indicates, the purpose of this book is not to provide lots of very general ideas like your average "Better Homes and Gardens" decorating title, but to clearly illustrate a variety of home decorating styles and...

Flawless Interior Decorating
I was very disappointed in this book. It basically divides interior decorating into styles such as traditional, contemporary, cottage etc and tells you the colors that are predominantly used in that style and the fabrics. It does not give any advice on HOW to do anything. I would not buy this book again---save your money

I was very disappointed in this book. It basically divides interior decorating into styles such as traditional, contemporary, cottage etc and tells you the colors that are predominantly used in that style and the fabrics.

As the book's subtitle indicates, the purpose of this book is not to provide lots of very general ideas like your average "Better Homes and Gardens" decorating title, but to clearly illustrate a variety of home decorating styles and show the features of each. This is actually one of the better books I have seen (and I've seen quite a few) that does this for the real-life home decorator as opposed to the historian or researcher. If this is what you are looking for, you will very much want to look at this book. Too bad to buy a book you thought was something else, but no fair to pan it as a result of your own mistake.
