Flax Seed Kit Grinding Kit - Organic Flax, Grinder, More

You can find a good coffee grinder on Amazon for
less than $25 and a pound of flax seed should never
cost more than $2. So this is a very expensive
way to add flax to your diet. As to the book, I find
myself leery of works with tites like:"...A True Aid."

Flax seeds are a pretty good addition to a diet. They have
a wonderfully nutty taste that adds character to baked goods
and hot cereal. They are very high in soluble fibre and can
be toasted in a skillet or incorporated in the crust of breads.

There are a few things you should know before buying this
product however:

* again, this price is quite high. A pound of organic flax seed at
your local store should cost less than $2 and you can find a
good grinder for $25.

* flax seed meal goes rancid easily. you can tell if rancidity
has set in by a slightly bitter taste to the meal. The best
way to incorporate flax in your diet is to buy fresh whole
seeds from a source that turns them over frequently and grind
them yourself.(a small electric coffee grinder that you can buy
on Amazon will do the trick.) Flax seed oil is even more
perishable.

* the fatty acids in flax are no substitute for the EFA's in
fish or fish oil. The ratio of 3's to 6's is way too low and
research has established that most of us do not convert one to
the other.

* when you first start to add flax to your diet, be sure to
drink a lot of water.

I ordered this kit several months ago and have been using it daily. The kit is comprehensive; it comes with a grinder, 5 bags of flax seed, storage container, and informative book. I believe it is a great deal and the flax seed itself is a great quality. I have also ordered more flax seed directly from the company and they provided excellent customer service and very fast shipping. I highly recommend this product!
