5.0 out of 5 stars Regan Reilly's long-awaited return engagement
Finally, a new Regan Reilly mystery has hit bookstore shelves. Carol Higgins Clark never fails to please, and she has done just that in her newest release, FLEECED. 3.0 out of 5 stars Well told story
I have been a fan of Carol Higgins Clark since her first book. Fleeced is well told, but lacks the "kick" that her other books had. I had a tough time caring about who killed the two older men, because we really never meet anyone who really missed them. Also, lacking is Carol's excellent sence of humor which was evident in her best book so far, Snagged.

5.0 out of 5 stars Regan Reilly's long-awaited return engagement, January 3, 2002
Finally, a new Regan Reilly mystery has hit bookstore shelves. Carol Higgins Clark never fails to please, and she has done just that in her newest release, FLEECED. In keeping with the lighthearted yet literate tone of her previous novels, Carol has set Regan on the trail of a cold-blooded killer, this time on the streets of New York City. She has also included a great new character, Jack Reilly, now Regan's boyfriend, previously introduced in last year's holiday collaboration with her mother (Mary Higgins Clark), DECK THE HALLS.
Again filled with colorful characters and even more colorful names, FLEECED is one mystery faithful followers as well as mystery lovers should be sure not to miss.

I really enjoyed reading Fleeced by Carol Higgins Clark. It has enough romance, mystery and intrigue to hold the reader's attention throughout the entire book.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent mystery, October 28, 2001
Los Angeles private investigator Regan Reilly is in New York City for several reasons. She's going to visit her parents and also attend the crime convention her mother has put together. She looks forward to seeing her significant other Jack Reilly, the head of the Big Apple's Major Case Squad. Unfortunately Megan has little time to visit with anyone because her friend Thomas Pilsner needs her in her official capacity.

Thomas is president of the Setler's Club, a place where people who are free thinkers congregate, exchange new ideas and have fun. The club is in decline but two of its' members, Nat and Dan are planning to contribute four diamonds worth four million dollars to revitalize the club. Both die before they can give their gift. Thomas wants Megan to find the missing donation before the Setler's Club becomes history. Other people are searching for the diamonds including two very dangerous grifters who will use any means at their disposal to get what they want.

The fifth installment in the Megan Reilly mystery series is a humorous private detective novel starring a heroine who keeps the audience hopping with her many exploits. The support cast is filled with quirky eccentric characters that add a vein of humor to the story line. Carol Higgins Clark, like her mother Mary Higgins Clark, is a dynamite storyteller who excels at her craft.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Total Waste of Time, May 8, 2002

I listened to the audio version, read by the author. The only thing worse than the writing was the reading!! This was one of the worst books that I have read/heard in a very long time. At the very end I was still at a loss to identify some of the main characters. Not a chance that this one will stay in my library...it's off the the used book store.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth The Read This Book Will Not Disappoint..., November 3, 2001
Talented writer Carol Higgins Clark has a winner on her hands with this wonderful story. I enjoyed the characters that came to life right before my eyes. That takes real talent to make a reader feel that way as they are reading the story. Super job.

1.0 out of 5 stars Laughable, May 6, 2004
By A Customer
Carol Higgins Clark thrives off her famous mother's name. She completely expolits the well-known "Higgins Clark" to sell her books, which are to say the least, trash.

Fleeced was a waste of time.. and it was a VERY quick read. The dialogue is dumb and predictable, the characters under-developed and shallow, and the plot is almost non-existent. This book lacked any suspense and was very, VERY slow. One particularly laughable part was when they discovered who the killer was.

"Oh my god!" cried Regan.
"Oh sweet Jesus!" yelled Clara.

Dear Lord, what a ridiculous piece of trash this book was.

Please, Carol. Go back to your acting.. unless you're as good an acress as you are a writer. You will never reach your mother's caliber in writing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bored Silly, March 8, 2003
By

I laughed throughout this story but not because the plot was ingenious or the characters had any depth. I laughed because I couldn't figure out how it ever got published in the first place. And like most people who are intrigued by a good train wreck, I kept reading to see how bad it would get. The book didn't disappoint! I was utterly shocked to see all the strong reviews. All I could imagine was that Carol had some of her friends write in to boast about the book. My recommendation is that Carol should return to acting. It couldn't be as bad as her attempt at book writing.
