5.0 out of 5 stars So personal.........
I am close to finishing this book which I learned was given to my husband many years ago. It has given me a personal insight into what I never looked at that way. Mick Fleetwood always seemed like a big freak to me. But he is "fleetwood" and he knows how it all went. It is truly an insight into his feelings and a lot more. If you love fleetwood mac, read this and learn...

If you love fleetwood mac, read this and learn all about them - and him, from the beginning.(I'm sure there is a lot you didn't know.). It is touching. Really. Just get it and read it. There's nothing else to say, except how moved I am by this book. Read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly entertaining and surprising history of Fleetwood Mac, May 10, 2001
I fully expected to read all the "soap-opera-ish" accounts of the turbulent Nicks-Buckingham early years (you do get plenty of this), but I didn't realize the original Fleetwood Mac had such an interesting early history! I've heard all the stories about this account not being 100% factual, but, even if it's not entirely accurate, it's very definetly worth the read. Fleetwood's self-depricating humor and honest (to a fault) dialouge make this one of the best Rock books that I've read...highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Fleetwood Mac fan!, February 26, 2000

This review is from: Fleetwood: My Life and Adventures in Fleetwood Mac (Paperback)
I had to wait a year and a half to get this book (it was already out of print). but boy, was it worthwhile! An insiders view of the often turbulent career of one of the greatest bands ever! Mick Fleetwood tells it all with an open heart. The book smells sincerity and the drummer gives us one of the best biographies I ever saw, telling all the good or bad facts he saw during his 25 plus years in the band. Unlyke meny other books about rock bands, mr. Fleetwood doe not try to hide anything about the rock life he gone through. I could not stop reading it until I finished it. A very touching book. As a human being and musician mr. Fleetwood has got my respect. Long Live Fleetwood Mac!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reading, but read it with an open mind!, July 2, 1999
By A Customer
I loved this book! I was unable to put the book down and finished it in one evening. The first part of the book deals with Mick's childhood and musical roots, while the latter part focuses on the various Fleetwood Mac line-ups. The book becomes enthralling by the time Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham join the band, and from then on it reads like a soap opera. I do suggest that readers realize that they are basically reading only Mick Fleetwood's point of view, however. I have read comments about the book by the other members of Fleetwood Mac, and they do suggest that there are inaccuracies. The book is excellent entertainment and very revealing, however, that is likely to be appreciated and enjoyed by any Fleetwood Mac fan!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Quick Read -- Funny, Informative, Highly Enjoyable, January 7, 2008
This review is from: Fleetwood: My Life and Adventures in Fleetwood Mac (Paperback)
I picked this up at a used bookstore the other day, wondering what ole' Mick had to say about all the goings-on in the band.

What a surprise!

This is a funny, entertaining, highly enjoyable pass through the life and times of English rock in the early to late 60s, abd then an equally enjoyable romp through the craziness that was the LA music biz in the 70s and 80s.

Mick's voice is assured, hilarious, wry, insightful, and informative. He is at times modest, regretful, generous and always engaging. The early days of Mac, including the wild goings on with Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, were a highlight, and of course the Rumours era insanity and some not-flatterring anecdotes about Buckingham are there as well.

If you have any interest in rock and roll you will want to read this book.

Bravo Mick!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great rock icon lineage through bands like Fleetwood Mac, March 31, 2000
This book is great reading, mostly if you were apart of the rock revolution of the 60's and 70's. It is interesting to see the heritage of some of my favorite rock icons that came through the John Mayall bands into those like Fleetwood Mac. Mick is very introspective to a fault in this book, however he does humanize a lot of what was going on during those crazy years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book by Mick! Bravo Mick Fleetwood!, November 13, 1998

Mick Fleetwood has done an excellent job of recounting the wild lives of the members of Fleetwood Mac. This is a MUST READ for FM fans. You may want to skim over the first couple of chapters that relate to Mick's childhood, but once he gets to talking about the rock and roll scene, you won't be able to stop reading. Especially when Stevie and Lindsey join the band! You will not want this book to end. I read this book in one evening! I could not put it down until I was finished. READ THIS!

The second I started reading this book, I felt like I was a member of the band. It takes you there like no other book could. It is so well written and the pictures are great. It's a must read for anyone who ever wanted to know anything about Fleetwood Mac.

5.0 out of 5 stars Summer's Fleetwood Book Review, January 31, 1998
By A Customer
I thought that this book was very good!! Although, the beginning was a little on the dull side(told about Mick's childhood)But then it got into the Fleetwood Mac dramas and really told how they got into it and how they got through it all...things one would not expect. It is an eye opener...an inside look inside a day in the life of Fleetwood Mac. It was just very very good!:) Really worth reading!

2.0 out of 5 stars A good endeavor but lacking...., June 2, 2010
This review is from: Fleetwood: My Life and Adventures in Fleetwood Mac (Paperback)
Before I started reading this book I didn't know much about Fleetwood Mack and now that I've finshed it, I still feel like I don't know much about this band.

The origins of Fleetwood Mack were probably the most interesting parts but then he stars skipping all over the place with no indication of where in their career he's referring to and things start to get a little murky and drawn out.

Mick wrote this book and I don't think he should be writing any others.
