Product Description

Flensted Mobiles are a traditional handicraft in Denmark. The first modern designer mobile was made there in 1954. Today Flensted Mobiles is based on the Danish island of Funen, the birthplace of Hans Christian Anderson, where it creates its very own design fairy tales from the old village school in Brenderup. This mobile is made by circles. The mobile is 3 dimensional and can be seen from below. With the ears of the elephant you open the mobile and keep it together with the trunk and tail. It is said that babies only see black and white until the age of 1 year. Also available in Pink.

Nowhere does it say it's made of paper and be aware you have to assemble it too.

I anticipated these elephants to be made out of wood, and couldn't believe how much I spent for how little its made out of.

In actuality, one elephant is white, one is a very light gray (almost white), and one is black.

I anticipated these elephants to be made out of wood, and couldn't believe how much I spent for how little its made out of. However!... They are beautiful and really do dance when the air conditioning turns on. My son loves to stare at them. And they make such a beautiful addition to the nursery!

Requires some minor assembly (stick the ear pieces through the flaps). The elephants are made of a very thin plastic, which enables them to be moved by the slightest breeze. Our A/C running is enough to keep these spinning for several minutes, or you can turn on a ceiling fan, or just blow on them. They come perfectly balanced/positioned on the metal pieces out of the box.

I like that they are simple shapes, but do have some depth to them when viewed from underneath by the baby. The picture is not quite accurate as to color. The elephants are actually white, light grey, and black, respectively. Later on I may purchase a more colorful one, such as the hot air balloons. I put mine over the changing table in an elephant-themed nursery.

The item is paper and tiny. I was looking for a contemporary mobile for the babies room and saw this and thought it would be perfect. I can't believe I paid forty $ for flimsy paper attached to fishing line. I could recreate this in less than 5 minutes on my silhouette. Nowhere does it say it's made of paper and be aware you have to assemble it too. It does not come "ready to hang" as advertised. Needless to say I'll be sending this back.

We hung this above our changing table. It is a 3-dimensional mobile (unlike the other elephant mobile sold by this company) so a baby can actually see something while lying flat and ours enjoys watching it.

The photo online looks like the elephants come in varying tones of gray. The mobile is actually gray, white, and black. Also, its made of paper. Rather cheap and flimsy looking. For what I paid, I certainly hoped for something a little more substantial. However, to it's credit, it does look nice from a distance. It spins quite nicely in just the breeze from the fan. It coordinates pretty well with my modern nursery, which is done in varying tones of gray and teal. I wouldn't purchase again at this price; but I can work with it.
