The quality of Quiet Time ear plugs had obviously gone way down, and I noticed that the noise reduction rating had been lowered from 33 to 31 decibels. I e-mailed the company to complain, and they suggested I return the poor-quality earplugs for a refund. They also said that they were going back to their old supplier, and they sent me some of the good-old 33-decibel ear plugs at no charge. Pretty good customer service. I'm editing this rating, and I would now add more stars to it if I could.

I've tried both the 33db and the 31db ear plugs. This sounds counterintuitive, but the 31db ones are MUCH better. Why? In their expanded state, they're smaller than the 33s, and are just the right size for them to be comfortable for extended wear. I sleep in a high-noise environment, and both the 31 and 33s block out noise just fine, but the 33s will wake me up at night because they hurt my ears. I wake up well-rested with the 31s, so I hope they won't stop making them.

I was sent the incorrect earplugs. The advertisement clearly shows the 33 decibel
plugs. I received the old 31 decibel plugs. Those 2 decibels and the newest manufacturing make a huge difference. I am going to request my money back.

I've been using these ear plugs for a couple of years simply because they're the only thing available in the area where I reside. I have to say that it's gotten to the point where I'm going to start ordering another brand of ear plugs online because these ear plugs are just not cutting it. First of all, I can't believe how LONG they are. They are close to 1.25 inches in length! I've started cutting them practically in half in order to get them to fit in my ears without sticking out. However, cutting them in half reduces the level of noise that they will block. Even if I use them at their full length, they create ear pain and tend to wiggle out of my ears in the middle of the night. I'll often wake up to discover that one of my ear plugs is missing. As a result, I'll keep at least 3 spares by my bedside in case I need to reach for an extra ear plug to replace the one that slipped out of my ear. I typically find these purple dudes hiding in my sheets or behind the bed. They don't have good suction and I find myself waking up several times per night just to reinsert the things. I've also noticed that they really don't block out that much noise. For example, I can easily carry on a conversation while wearing these ear plugs. Not good. I've given up on this brand.

I had previously purchased Flents Quiet!Please ear plugs which I did not like. They were too short for my big hands and I usually had trouble inserting them in my ears.

I'm glad I bought Quiet Time since they work much better. They're tapered and a bit longer, so they're easier to insert. They are quieter also. I will buy these again.

I used these for years and have no problems but they changed the formula and the amount of sound reduced is practically useless. They used to work amazing. I still had some of the old ones and comparing them, the old one were denser and had a smooth surface, which as a one using plugs for decades, is nice for the clean value, the ones with pores seem to get dirty much faster. The new ones had lots of pores and were extremely soft and squishy, which sounds good but without the density, the amount of sound blocked is much less. If you want very little sound blocked and or have really tiny ear holes they may be fine for you.

I am a petite person, including my ears. My father suggested a couple of other ear plugs to me when I had trouble sleeping due to noise, and they hurt my ears too much to make it worth it. I assumed ear plugs = pain for me. However, when I tried this particular one, Quiet Time (NRR 33), I was finally relieved!! They block out the noise AND don't hurt! They may not quite mute to the decible level of other ear plugs, BUT they work better than another brand that's similar (yet bright pink), and it's the maximum benefit you can get for such a SOFT ear plug. I love them!!

If you're looking for noise reduction at a higher decible, they are out there for those with larger or less sensitve ears. But if you're the type, like me, who find those others too painful, this is the BEST choice!

For the price of these you can't go wrong. Earplugs are amazingly expensive and you get 50-count for a little over ten dollars. In stores and everywhere else online these would cost well over 20 dollars. As far as the quality, they are good enough. They don't block out as much sound as past earplugs but pretty close to it. They are purple as well so people can see them in your ears, which I think is good in case something bad happens they know they are in your ears. Case looked really big in picture but it was really small, not too small though.

I have some of the other Quiet Time Soft Comfort ear plugs (paler lavender), and they work MUCH better than these "original formula" plugs. In fact, if I must hear my alarm in the a.m., I use these deliberately as I hear nothing with the others. I noticed the difference right away, as with the others I cannot hear my bedroom fan at all. With these I can. Also, the others last forever. I don't know yet how these last. Both are soft and comfie though.
