I've seen a good portion of the Flash Gordon series, and I actually thought this film hit the style on the head. It had a good deal of comedy, and never took itself seriously. The acting was... terrible, but that's to be expected from a film called Flesh Gordon Meets teh Cosmic Cheerleaders. The direction is okay, nothing special, but the set design and the costume design is top notch. I found that suprising, considering that this film was probably very cheap to make. The script is fine, but it seems to just throw in everything it could think of, and at times it makes things seem way to stretched out. Yes, it's going for the original Flash's feel, but Flash Gordon was original a seriel, and could stretch out the stories if it wanted to. This film can't, and at times runs WAY to long. But some of the nice cheesy touches make the film worth while.

Now, this film does look as if it was an "adult" movie, but honestly it isn't. Yes, there are insane amounts of nudity (almost every scene includes at least one or two refrences to a part of the anatomy) but actual sexual content is kept to a minimum, with only one actual encounter, and it's entirely played for laughs and includes no nudity. Even the unrated version feels like an R rated film, with only one very brief shot and the fact that the Cosmic Cheerleaders costumes tend to ride up in certain areas, bumbing the film up to the NC-17 rating.

If you are a fan of Seduction Cinema movies then this is right up your alley. If you like cheesy adult comedies, check this out, and if you want to see Flesh Gordan with a very ugly blonde mullet, and rather hairy butt, then check this out. If you want a movie that's well made, exciting, and thoughtful... go get something else. For fans of camp, and Ghoulies 3.

It's been many years since I saw either of these but now that it's on DVD I'm watching the first Flesh Gordon again. The FIRST Flesh Gordon was charming and funny. As to the sequel I agree with the person who wrote "what a letdown." The toilet humor in this one can only be enjoyed by sick puppies. Unless you like the idea of people dressed as giant bowel movements blocking each others way through the alimentary canal (and what the hell's our hero doing there anyway?) save your lunch by skipping this monstosity.

Like another reviewer, I loved the original Flesh Gordon (not to mention the genuine article, the Flash Gordon serials) and was thrilled to see a Flesh Gordon 2 had been made. No comparison. Not even close. It is just awful. Flesh Gordon 1 is funny, campy and loaded with interesting characters, spaceships and special effects. Flesh Gordon 2 (aside from the opening with cute, toyish spacehips) is so bad, I would be embarrassed to show it to anyone. I expected sex and nudity, of which there is practically none. I expected adventure, of which there IS none. But what this movie unfortunately DOES have is a rather lengthy scatology scene. (Look it up in the dictionary) It's endless, not funny, and eventually, uncomfortable to watch. I hated this movie as much as I loved Flesh Gordon 1. In fact, I threw Flesh Gordon 2 out--I was afraid to give it to anyone for fear they would think I was "into" such things...

After seeing the original 1974 flesh gordon I was happy to see a part 2, I grabbed it from the rental shelf and went home hoping it would be as entertaining as the original but to my dismay part 2 was only a crude attempt to copy the first. There is no humor and no magic touch to this movie, not worth the tape it took to make it. Get the original 1974 Flesh Gordon on DVD but skip part 2. Not funny, not entertaining.

I didn't realize that referring to a part of male anatomy would be considered inappropriate. Flesh Gordon, after all, IS an adult movie! I wrote a legitimate review, asking about the deletion of a very funny scene from the film. Very well.

When I saw Flesh Gordon 2 on cable recently, there was a most humorous scene with a stop-motion animation you-know-what. It wore lots of makeup and sounded like Julia Child. IT WAS NOT OFFENSIVE!!! Laughter is good for the soul and the body, and the movie, just barely bawdy and definitely silly, helped a rather ill person through uncomfortable and painful bandage changing.

I recommended the movie to a friend and bought two copies. Unfortunately, the scene in question was deleted from the VHS tape I purchased. I mentioned this in my censored review and asked if anyone knew which version of Flesh Gordon 2 had the deleted scene with the you-know-what. It was also to let people know that the scene was deleted.

If I have offended the review reviewers by using the correct name when writing about male anatomy, I apologize. How else should I have asked a question about the deleted scene?

Obviously this is a very silly movie. It ain't Oscar material, it has no redeeming value whatsoever. It's a movie to kick back and watch with tongue in cheek -- no pun intended. Most of the acting isn't, most of the effects aren't, and if they decide to make #3, they shouldn't.

Given the choice again, I would have preferred to have rented this one instead of buying.

This movie, which was done about 17 years after the first one, is bad. It does not live up to the standards set by the first one. It is not near as funny. It also shows next to nothing of the human body. I recommend saving your money and not buying this one.

Cheers to Howard Ziehm! A brilliant directorial effort. A gorgeous blend of beauty and squalor, packed with imagery that will play over and over in your head for weeks. The scene shifts are many deft pieces of tenacity that seep through the film. The actors have an awe-inspiring openness to the camera, with magnetic realism. Difficult to pinpoint the best scenes, as I found one of the pleasures to be the curious aura of innocence that transcended throughout the lush decidedly old fashioned, big movie feeling. This film burns with moral passion and erotic fervor.

I saw the first Flesh, and thought: "Wow, a soft core porn comdey. Cool!" I thought it was hilarious in its own ways. A definite change of pace from so many movies of its time. Now a sequel...WHY? Atleaset why this one. It was terrible! I agree with one of the reviewers, it was move tell than show. Their were no real sex scenes. When the 3 Cheerleaders were riding flesh, you could still see their flesh colored g-strings. Come on. And the whole turd people thing...That was just revolting....Yuck to the sequel...which didn't really even show any FLESH

I loved the first Flesh, but now comes a sequel thats equally grand. Evil Presence is indeed a very funny villian who had me laughing every time he spoke, Flesh himself is a little more real, and Flexi is as funny as he ever was. Some very nice set designs are also in this movie. Its an all out fun movie. I just wish they made a 3rd and 4th film......Its too late now. The series ended with the second one.
