Intriguing Suspense!,

I enjoyed the suspense portion of this story, but the romance initially felt a bit forced. Cortez was so harsh (although understandably so, considering his past) that I had a hard time with his transition to desire for Jenny. Likewise, it was sometimes hard to see why she wanted him with his attitude toward her. But as the story progressed the connection grew. He softened in demeanor and become a protector, with his hostility focused on the bad guy. Some lovely, poignant moments in these pages!

Anything written by Rita Herron is a great read. This is a intense mystery and once you start reading you won't want to put it down.
