Book Description

Lightning in the middle of a blizzard? Dr. Sydney Blake has read about it, but this is the first time in all her life she’s experienced it. Has her truck been struck? Blinded by the flash, she slams on the brakes and dives from the driver’s seat, right into a snow drift.
As a shivering Syd gropes to her feet, she keeps her eyes shut tight, praying she didn’t actually see what she thinks she saw in that flash of light… a golden giant standing smack dab in the middle of the road. No way. Not possible. Or is it?
In The Flesh is Book Two of The Soul Series. It is the sequel to Incorporeal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Man-na From Heaven February 19, 2012
By jwmanus
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Dr. Sydney Blake is exhausted by too many hours at work, disgusted by an ex-boyfriend who refuses to accept the "ex" part, and quite frankly, lonely as all get out. While driving home in a Montana blizzard, a man falls from the sky. Except a man can't fall from the sky. Especially not a gorgeous naked man who can't remember his name or how he ended up almost getting run over by Sydney's truck. Before too long Syd has her hands full with a gruff, but caring sheriff, an obnoxious ex, gold in them there hills, and a very delectable man with loving on his mind.

Barrett has created charming characters in Syd and Wolf. (Should I mention Wolf is very, very sexy?) I greatly enjoyed the love story. What I really liked were the strong layers of sacrifice and caring and what it means to truly live and love.

Honestly, how can anybody resist a woman who says, "That's my truck out there and he's my person. I found him...."

Solid gold.

2.0 out of 5 stars Same Thing, Different Title March 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is more or less a carbon copy of the first installment of the series, change the name of the characters, a different location and leave everythig else as is...personally, it was ok but I really expected more... I thought that when the obnoxious publisher character in the last book told the want to be writer that all you had to do to make a reader happy was change a few things around and basically write about the same thing - I thought it was just part of the story - I see that this author truely believes that we, the readers are not interested in something different. Author...think again.

4.0 out of 5 stars ROMANCE WITH A PARANORMAL THEME February 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Doctor Sydney Blake works in the emergency room she has been on duty four days straight. There is a flu epidemic, that means not only are they inundated with patients, but a lot of the staff are sick too. When her boss demands she go home for a few days rest, she has no choice but to go. Sydney had just broken up with her boyfriend David Garba a fellow doctor and prime jerk. But he refuses to take no for an answer, and Sydney knows that he is going to be a problem, but she is too tired to think of that, she will deal with him another time. Driving home in the blizzard, there is a sudden a flash of lightening, and Sydney sees or thinks she sees a twelve foot man in golden armour in the road, frightened she jumps from her car. After more lightening she climbs back on the road, only to be confronted by a large naked man, and what a sight he is at around six foot five waist length hair with golden eyes. Not knowing where he has come from Sydney quickly forgets her fear remembering that she is a doctor, she helps the man into her car. The weather is too bad to drive back to the hospital, so she takes him home. Deciding to call the sheriff.
This is a very well written story. I really enjoyed this. I liked Sydney she was open and caring. The man she rescues in the blizzard Wolf, remembers very little apart from his name, and that he is here for Sydney. things soon heat up between the two, but there is some drama as well. A recommended read, that is tender, passionate with very well wrtten love scenes.

More About the Author

What can I say about me? I'm married to the love of my life. We have three amazing children. I don't just write; I'm a registered nurse, I've owned a catering company and restaurant, worked as a nanny, a secretary, a pastry chef, a waitress, an art teacher and a soccer coach - you name it, I've probably dabbled in it. I love to travel and I believe I've visited all fifty states and a few places outside of the U.S.

So, besides hiking with my dog and riding horses (yum!), I love to cook and bake, read and write and sell books.
