This review is from: Flesh and Wood (Audio CD)
While living in SA, I was introduced to the music of Jimmy Barnes. Flesh & Wood is a prime example of the diversity of his music. He's not forgotten what it means to put real feelings into the music. I loved this CD!

Jimmy Barnes Doesn't Sing, He Screams In Tune!,
This review is from: Flesh & Wood (Audio CD)
This CD proves once and for all that Jimmy Barnes cannot sing but he does manage to scream in tune. This is basically an "Unplugged" album which was all the fashion at the time of this CD's release. Mr. Barnes rehashes some of his tired old Cold Chisel songs which don't sound any better without the electric guitar and keyboards. There is one track on this CD about some drunk, oh excuse me, an alcoholic who comes home pissed (as we Aussies like to say) and just like all drunks insists that he is Stone Cold Sober and "in love" with his girlfriend. One cannot help but wonder if this song has a basis in Mr. Barne's hard drinking days although one suspects that he wouldn't have had a bottle of Vodka always handy if the cameras weren't filming him. I give this Album 5 stars because Jimmy has the audacity to try to do a cover version of Elvis' 'Love Me Tender" which falls way short of the original in quality.
