I met Fleur Weymouth at a farmers market in the town where we reside. She was selling, among other things, some of her photo cards as well as this book. We immediately bought a dozen cards - images that spoke to us, of nature, of the quality of life here on the islands, and even gondolas in Venice where we have never been. We felt compelled to these images as if we wanted to be a part of what they captured. The next week we bought a half dozen more. And still more. This artist is able to capture the soul of things, whether it be people or perspectives in the natural world.

This book contains not only her poignant images, but essays and reflections on a life truly lived. Deeply insightful, highly recommended.

Just thinking of this book and image of long hair shimmering in the sun instantly comes to me. It reminds me of my mother's hair when I was a little girl. Then another imagem and then one after another; storms, leaves, fish, flowers, family, friends... they all feel peaceful. In my memory they all feel strong.

This is a small book that someone brought me from Hawaii, and I later gave to a friend who was having trouble finding their own eyes for the flowers they were photographing. They loved it... and their own work became more personal for them.

Would recommend to anyone...
