I can't say enough good about this leash. I had tried bungee leashes and regular leashes for taking my 25 and 35 lb high energy dogs on walks. I walk gravel roads and like to let my dogs 'smell the sights' along the way but with both types of leashes they would often get tangled in the leash when I would let them all the way out and then call them back. And I was constantly trying to shorten and lengthen the leash by looping it as needed. It was a lot of work and no fun for them or me.

I'm not a big fan of the flexi leashes with CORD as I've seen them get wrapped around people and slice fingers. But when I saw that they now are available as a belt instead of a cord I decided to give them a try.

They are PERFECT! My dogs have 16 feet of roaming that they can do as I walk along down the gravel road (one dog in each ditch). If they want to be near me (or I call them to come), the leash retracts at the perfect tempo to keep light tension on the leash so no more tangled legs. When I need to reel them in for safety reasons, the leash works fantastic as I extend my arm, lock the leash, then pull the dog toward me and release the leash/repeat the extend/pull/lock until he's as close as I need him.

I now can even go running with my dogs without getting yanked, tripped, etc. The 16 feet gives them time to even lift a leg for a quick marking, then run and catch up before I'm more than 16 feet away.

I bought 'bigger' (this is for up to 77 lb dogs and my dogs are 25 and 35 lbs) for a higher safety factor. The tension is not too much for their size at all, and once when they hit the end of the leash at a dead run when a deer ran right in front of them, I had no worries that they would snap the belt.

LOVE LOVE LOVE how much more pleasurable walks are now with my very energetic dogs who think that 'heel' is a dirty word.

I bought this leash to replace my flexi comfort 2. The grip is comfortable although it is not quite as big as the comfort 2. The grip is plenty big for my female hands, but not as comfortable for my husband's big hands as the comfort 2 was. Unlike the comfort 2 the leash is not a cord, but a sturdy ribbon of fabric that retracts entirely. This does cause a problem with startling my dog when I clumsily drop the leash and the hand retracts all the way to my dog's collar. Nevertheless, I do think that the leash is sturdy enough for my 22 pound dog when he dashes after a squirrel. Besides, it does have a lifetime warranty which my comfort 2 did not.

We bought two of these retractable leashes for our two Siberian Huskies, and it has made walking them SO much easier. They love the fact that they can roam and sniff about on the long leash, while my husband and I love that we can still maintain control over them with the easy-to-grip handle and the locking button. This is the second time we have bought these leashes, we wore our first ones out over the course of 3 years - that's how much we use and love them! Plus, having the added security of the one year warranty makes these an especially attractive buy. For people like myself who take their dogs everywhere, do not hesitate to buy these leashes.

However, it should be said that these leashes are for people with dogs who are already leash trained. If your dog is not leash trained you should definitely NOT start out with a retractable 16' leash, as you will never accomplish "heal" or walking nicely, you'll just get yanked around by your dog. Start out with a 3-6' leash, then when your dog is a good walker and you have accomplished training, graduate to this Flexi leash.

For those of you with "pullers," like us with our siberian huskies, you should know that we have never had issues with this leash snapping or breaking. Our big boy, who weighs about 80 pounds and has a massive pull weight, has never been able to break these leashes, no matter if the pull started out as sudden or was gradual. It should be noted that we also use Holt's head collars while walking our two, as we'd have a hard time maintaining control without them. The reason we are on our second pair of Flexi leashes after 3 years is that the retractable spring in one gave out on its' own accord (thank the big boy) and our female managed to get ahold of the other and chewed the clip off the end.

I got two new Flexi leashes to add to my 2 Flexi leash 3s. I have retired sled dogs and they love the 16 feet of freedom that comes with a flexi leash walk. I can walk two at a time when using the flexi leash. It does resemble flying fighter kites as they run and weave and unweave the leashes but they get the exercise and can have a friend a long to check on any smells that might seem out of place. The new models have more comfortable handles when wearing gloves and they seem lighter that the 3s. I like the light reflecting thread woven into the leash. I hope the new Flexis are as durable as the old ones. The 3s have been with me for 4 years and get tough use.

I really returned this because it just didn't meet my needs for a new puppy. Went to a cheap nylon leash that puppy can chew. I would've returned it anyways though because I paid extra thinking I was getting a comfortable handle. There is hardly a difference between the handle on this leash and the normal flexi leash. The rubber isn't thick, so besides the grip factor, there is no comfort benefit in my opinion.
