I am disgusted by the made in China 48" Flexible Flyer and am surprised I cannot find any recall information or data on how to contact the manufacturer.

Don't waste your money. I am very disappointed in this item. Bought it for my 7 year old grandaughter, for Christmas. Item is put together like crap. I arrived broken, she was so upset that I repaired it, but it should have been returned. If you think this is in anyway the sled you remember as a child forget it. some 1/4 20, nuts and bolts would have made the difference, but they went cheap on everything except the price..................shame on Amazon for selling this.

I remember the days when the Flexible Flyer was a thing of quality. Made in the USA out of solid oak and steel. A sled on which any kid could do a belly flopper and never worry about the sled withstanding all the abuse. Now the sled, still called the Flexible Flyer is made in China. No longer made with oak, but another kind of wood. (Not sure what kind.) It is a very unstable sled and I will rework it to make it more stable before I give it to my grandson.

Purchased two flexible flyers for my kids. After very little use 4 (aluminum)rivets snapped. If I paid $25 for these I could understand them using cheaper materials but these were expensive sleds. I have tried to contact the manufacturer but have not been able to find any contact info. Save your $$ and buy anything else. These sleds will not last!!

I ordered this sled for my daughter in 2007 (from another seller - not Amazon) and this is the first year we have been able to try it. After less than an hour, she brought it back inside missing one of the aluminum rivets attaching the front wood frame to the metal. The other side's was detached, but the piece had not yet fallen out. It is worthless, since as a single mom, I am clueless as to how to re-secure it and I question it's safety. I am disgusted by the made in China 48" Flexible Flyer and am surprised I cannot find any recall information or data on how to contact the manufacturer. I would not recommend - it was a total waste of money.

Excellent sled, quality workmanship. My grandkids loved it and will enjoy it for years to come. It looks tough enough to last.

This is a great, classic sled, but the 48" was too small for our needs. We returned it with plans to purchase a 60" Flexible Flyer. The 48" would be perfect for children under 12, but adults really need the length of the 60" for a comfortable ride.

This was a gift for my 7 yr old grandson. He is thrilled with it. He wanted what he called a "real sled, not those plastic things you see everywhere"! Beautiful wood! This reminds me of what you saw all over when I was a kid. Quality merchandise. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a quality wood sled. Definitly can be used as a keepsake to pass down through the years. I hope my grandson keeps it for his son one day!
