The best sled under 50 bucks,

I recently bought several blow-up and plastic snow sleds to try. This one is the favorite of the whole family. While all other sleds go wherever they want, this sled has a steering wheel and indeed goes wherever you want. It also seems very durble - I am 180 lbs and rode it together with my 7 year old daughter, even jumping over snow bumps.

This steerable skidoo-like sled is a great addition to the normal arsenal of sliding equipment. The steering works very well, even at higher speeds, allowing perfect lines through trees, off jumps, around other sledders and across the hill should the slope become too steep. The side skis are long enough to distribute weight well and allow very zippy speeds -- it is hard to pass this sled in icy or hard pack conditions. The sled is also very sturdy and rugged enough to withstand not only big air and hard landings, but also the inevitable bashing into a fence or tree. I found it pretty difficult to assemble because the hard plastic was cold and very rigid, and the joints required some pounding to lock in place...but it might be easier if done inside when the plastic is warmer.

If you're willing to spend $60 bucks on a sled, this is the one that you want. It's fast, steers very well and has brakes. It's also going to turn heads on the sledding hill. My boy busted it out yesterday at a busy snowhill and everyone was eyeballing it. It was also the fastest thing on the hill.
I agree that it was a bit difficult to snap together (I assembled it inside), because it is made of rugged, thick plastic. But I think that that heavy duty plastic also makes it a quality product. I feel like this was a good purchase and I would definately buy this again.

Great sled, difficult assembly,

I purchased 2 of these for my girls(ages 7 and 9) for xmas and they loved them. They've used them several times now and have had a blast. They are very durable and the steering really works. I would have given 5 stars but like the other reviews I've read the assembly left me frustrated and I had to use a kitchen knife and a screwdriver to clear out the extra platic in the steering wheel before I could attach it to the steering column. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and have recommended it to other sledders who've asked about it at our local sledding hill.

We purchased this sled for our Grandson for Christmas. He thought it was great. The bad thing is he used it once and the brakes broke. He still likes the sled and will continue to use it. For the price it should last more than 1 trip down a snowy hill.

I purchased three of these sleds for my daughters ages 7,7&8. On the first run of the day the brake level snaped off of one of the sleds. I figured "stuff happens" but about a half hour later one of my twins crashed on the sled and the front ski and entire steering wheel both snapped off. I mine the plastic actually broke off??? Real JUNK!!! My brother and I had a similar sled when we were kids and it lasted 20 years, let just don't make this like they use to![...]

Both Blasters Broke the First Time out,

This review is from: Flexible Flyer PT Blaster (Toy)
Both Flexible Flyer PT Blasters broke the first time we used them. The steering worked well the first couple of times down the hill but then the steering bracket broke as well as the steering wheel shaft on both sleds. This is a good concept it just needs to be stronger. There wasn't a weight limit anywhere on the sleds that I saw.

Purchased the Flyer for my 10 and 11 year old cousins...they love it! Easy to assemble, heavy duty construction and very speedy on the hills. Great product!

My 11 year old daughter purchased this for a weekend in the snow. It was the most popular sled on the hill. Easy to steer and fast. My only concern is that after a day's use the front sled popped out and had to be fixed.

I rode this twice and broke it on the second run. It is unstable to control, and on the second ride I ended up snapping the steering wheel off in my hand. The removable steering wheel is not an intended feature.
