Product Features

  • Magnet designed to hold on one side only directly to flat steel surface. Multiple Poles are evenly spread across its surface to prevent sliding. It does not hold well to other magnets.
  • Magnet holds up to 12 pounds per linear foot on contact with flat, smooth ferrous steel, without layer of material between magnet and steel. Minimum recommended length for magnet is 1"
  • Adhesive covered by peel-off liner is on non-magnetic side. Adhesive is pressure-activated, permanent, acrylic type with initial tack and minimum of 24 hour cure time requirement.
  • Adhesive bonds to clean, smooth and uniform surfaces made of paper, wood, stainless steel, painted steel, aluminum, glass, and rigid plastics. For best results see full product description.
  • Magnet withstands temperatures from 0-150 degrees Fahrenheit. Made in USA.

Product Description

Perfect for making flat lightweight items magnetic. Magnet requires direct and full contact with steel for maximum hold, therefore it is best to make sure that magnet is flat. Magnet & adhesive work best when applied at above 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15.56 degree Celsius. For best results: 1)Allow magnet to reach room temperature then cut magnet with heavy duty scissors or hobby knife. 2)Apply magnet's dark gray side to large metal surface for several hours to flatten curl. Do not roll magnet strip in opposite direction to remove curl. 3)Clean applicable surface for adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry. 4)Peel back liner from the adhesive and place item on adhesive. 5)Apply adhesive to surface with firm pressure 6)Allow adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours or 72 hours to reach maximum bond with surface.

Like the title says, the product shouldn't read "Magnetic Tape", since the tape has almost no sticking power. I put up what seemed to be a light sign (3 oz.) with a 4" section of this tape. It fell off a day later and the stick was gone! The magnet seemed fine, but the tape is useless. If you get this product, you'll also need a roll of double-stick tape to make it work with anything heavier than a sheet of paper.

Seriously, I tried it on several things and the only thing that's stayed attached was a business card! A business card! As it stands now, I have a roll of magnetic tape with about 9 inches cut off and it sits at the bottom of a box of useless things I keep in case there's an urgent call for landfill.

It was cheap, but I never thought it would be this ineffective. If you're looking at this product, save your money and look at something else. and save yourself the money and the hassle.

The title says it all. The magnets are good and strong. But, the tape is very weak - not much sticking power. I'm disappointed - wouldn't buy this magnet tape again.

It's held my dry erase board to the refrigerator for several months with no issues. Does what it says it does!

I used this magnetic tape for a project I found off of Pinterest for miniature magnectic poloraid picture frames. Since the tape comes rolled up, I suggest unrolling the section you are going to use and let it sit for a few hours before using. This will help prevent it from trying to roll itself back up. The magnets are still holding strong after 8 months. Great product!

I should start by saying I only purchased this for the plan of sticking it along the inside of a bathroom drawer to hold my bobby pins and little metal hair clips - so I haven't tried it on anything much heavier. That being said, the adhesive (which I was worried might not be good enough) stuck right on easy peasy and has been holding fantastically. You can cut this with regular scissors, btw, to the length you need. For the purpose I got it for, it's been fantastic. My husband plans to make use of the remaining 9 feet in the garage in various little spots. We figure if it can't hold heavier items (and maybe it can, as I've said, we have not tried), it will at least be great to hold little screws/nails/etc to keep them from rolling away as he works on a specific project!

This should not even be rated as a 1 star. Total junk. Tape does not stick and magnet is extremely weak. If your looking for anything to hold something heavier that a pin or needle, buy something else. Note: it is considered hazardous and NOT RETURNABLE! They should remove this product from inventory.

I agree with other reviews that the adhesive side isn't very sticky but I completely disagree that the magnet isn't strong. I cut off 4 1-inch pieces and placed them on the back of my 17" x 23" dry erase board so that I could stick it magnetically to my refrigerator. It is holding it on VERY well so the magnets are not weak by any means! It doesn't fall off when I open and close the door, either. Not even once. I tried cutting the same size squares from a magnetic sheet (used for turning your pictures into refrigerator magnets) and it didn't even come close to holding the board to the refrigerator. This is much stronger than those magnetic sheets. The board came with 4 double sided sticky squares to stick the board to the wall and I stuck the magnets to those and then I stuck those to the board in order to increase the stickiness of the adhesive side of the magnetic tape. Depending on what you're using this for, you may need double sided tape to make it stickier.

Reviews for this kind of product are universally poor but this particular product had a slightly better rating. It appears it is just as bad as the others. I bought it to help my vinyl shower current stay closed at the seem. The product wouldn't stick to the vinyl (or anything else I tried as I tested it). The magnet is so weak it barely sticks to metal.
