I ordered this mic since my younger brother and I wanted to create some youtube vids with voice commentary. And I also wanted to use it for Skype. Overall it's working well, though it does have a difficulty picking up my voice from a far range. You pretty much have to speak right up at the mic. Which is fine since it won't be picking up background noise. It also arrived on it's designated deadline. However, the package was open. I guess UPS wanted to make sure it wasn't illegal. Anyways, the mic wasn't damage so that's all that matters.

Overall, if you want a cheap mic to start with before moving up to something more fancy and expensive then I recommend this mic.

[It officially died on 9/30/13 I'm not surprised. It is a very cheap mic. The wires inside it are pretty much thin and fragile. So after a sad fall it started to deteriorate overtime.]

Using it mainly for Skype. Crystal clear. still new but works perfect. There are no directions but it's not impossible to figure out. Plug in mic port, turn switch on. If mic doesn't work, turn switch other way.

Got this for my desktop so we could use Skype. Took a bit of time to setup but once I figured out which setting to use it's been working well. You have to be pretty speaking into it, can't be any distance away to be heard.

I don't know if this works better than the native mic on the Mac, the verdict is still in. *

I like this microphone, it's great for DJ mixing and it stands up very well. The sound quality is good and it's better than not having no microphone, I should have bought this along time ago. I also use it for digital voice transmissions using Free DV a program that is for ham radio, but it can be used for 49 MHz or anything else for experimentation. I am going to get me another one of these mics soon. As for 49 MHz the analog transmissions sound much better than the other
microphone that I used to use.

It says it's supposed to work on a Macbook but it didn't. Absolute waste of money. Couldn't return it because I realized it didn't work after the deadline to return it.
