I installed this upstream of my pressure reducing valve on my house water line. Reason: the screen inside my pressure reducing valve requires complete disassembly of the valve to remove for cleaning (a more expensive pressure reducing valve is available with an easily accessible screen). This Flexcraft screen can be flushed by removing the 3/8 plug or removed to clean by unscrewing the larger cap. Be aware that the screen mesh is not real fine. It will work for small pebbles but I would think fine sand would still get through it. This is the reason for the 4 stars. Be also advised that this is a solder in fitting. This is an easy procedure if you know how to do it. I may look around for a finer screen somewhere. I see here that you can upload so I may revise this review if I make a video later

Excellent filtering unit to protect your warm water line (installed before water heater). Doing so your warm water boiler/no tank heater is protected against accumulations of debris at all times. Also the dishwasher (connected to my warm water) is protected.
Ideal scenario is to install a ball valve before and after the filter, this will allow you to clean the filter without turning off the water for the entire home and also it will prevent over-pressure to bounce back from your heater. Also consider installing a valve for purging the debris (this will do your job easier - you won't have to remove the inner basket every time you clean the filter.)

Looks like quality , except there were some bronze flakes on both y-strainer castings that I scraped off. These could've came loose and done some damage if I didn't see them. Using them for Hot water hydronic heat.
