3.0 out of 5 stars Where oh where to attach my new line
This clothes line means well when it states it does away with the poorly functioning suction cups found on similar products, but it leaves you with far worse...no way at all to attach. A great deal of making this work is left up to the end user and his or her own ingenuity in finding a way to hang it up solidly.

I have used this clothesline all over Europe and South America on multiple trips, and I love it. No clothespins are needed, because you can attach your clothes inside the braid of the rubber. It packs up into almost nothing and weighs almost nothing.

You take one end of the clothesline, wrap it around something, such as a pipe or a bedpost, or even a doorknob, and loop it through itself. You then take the other end of the clothesline, along with a small hook (you have to get one separately), and hook it to itself.

This can hold a lot of weight - I've had two pairs of wet jeans along with 2 pairs of wet shirts, socks, and underwear all on the line at the same time. Sure, it'll sag, but it's no problem.

Don't get any of the clotheslines that have suction cups on the end - what if all you have around is wood and concrete? Then there'll be nothing to suction the cups to. You can't really hang your clothes to dry in a bathtub when you share the bathroom with other people...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Travel Clothesline, June 19, 2008
By

I have used this travel clothesline for over twenty years; it is unquestionably the best of the breed. Simple twisted-pair lines (or fabric-covered ones) don't grip heavy/wet clothes sufficiently; lines with suction cups don't attach to anything but very smooth surfaces (and can't be depended on to manage much weight either).

You don't need clips, hooks, or carabiners to attach this line to rings, poles, etc. You can easily attach the first end by simply passing the line through its own loop. You attach the other end (when similarly necessary) by passing the end of the loop through its side, then inserting some straight/rigid object (a pen, a spoon, etc.) to stop the end from pulling back through. Simple.

Did you know that you can pack these with your medical supplies as well? They make ideal tourniquets.

You do need to replace them every dozen years or so, as eventually the latex rubber will decay.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best but not perfect, April 17, 2007

This is the 3rd travel clothesline for me; not because the previous ones broke but because I keep finding clothelines that offer better features. This is the best one so far since it eliminates the need for clothespins, is better at holding wet, heavy clothes and the clothes don't slide. My only complaint is I wish it had suction cups and clips on the ends like my other travel clotheslines so I could hang it in the bath/shower or attach it to poles. My previous clotheslines had those features and I used them alot. To work around this I use a small carabiner on each end. This travel clothesline would be PERFECT if it offered all those features.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for the traveling family, August 13, 2008

This clothesline is awesome. We used it EVERY DAY on a cruise this summer. It was easy to find a way to hook it up. It is strong and stretchy -- it held all 5 of our wet swimming suits plus the things we washed in the sink. Tucking clothes and swimming suits into the braided tubing works much better than clothes pins. This will be in my suitcase every time I travel with or without my kids!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for inside anymore., May 25, 2008

I bought 3 lines, hooked them together and strung them between 2 trees, 21' across in back yard. (We decided to go greener and stop using the electric dryer unless absolutely necesssary.) Works like a charm with one exception - I needed a center pole (sunk into the ground) to reduce the amoun of sag in the middle. What I like most about it is NO CLOTHES PINS. Also, I can just take it down when done and only hook it up when needed. Works even for heavy items (sheets, towels, etc.) as long as I put them near the trees for support. Love the product.

Very sturdy construction, but compact and flexible. Not quite long enough, in my opinion, but perfect for smaller spaces. Invaluable!

5.0 out of 5 stars Made one-bag travel possible!, April 8, 2009

I decided on this clothesline after reading about it on the One-Bag Traveller site. It made a week-long international vacation possible -- with only a few changes of clothing! I used it every night, and was able to rig it up in each of the B&Bs we stayed at, no problem. The loops even fit around some large, round doorknobs! Good stretch, sturdy loops, and great gripping ability. Definitely a must-have for any extended trip! :)

The Flexo-Line clothes line is fabulous! It is the absolute best! I used it everyday for five weeks while traveling. It is an absolute must from now on whenever and wherever I travel. It is very compact and yet stretches over 5 feet to hold a lot of wash without sagging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product - I Recommend, July 18, 2011

I purchased this product primarily to use for drying wet clothes in my hotel room after returning from the beach or the hotel pool. However I'm sure I will use it for laundry as well. I have not used it while travelling yet, but I did test it in my home. It worked as advertised. I recommend this product.

FYI - In a hotel you may secure the loops of the Flexoline to a door handle and a shower head, towel ack, etc. However, I prefer to secure a clothes line to the opposing walls of the shower. In most cases you will need to have a clothes line that has suction cups on each end or mount removable suctions that have a hook.

After reading several reviews about how other clothes lines that have suction cups performed poorly, I decided to buy a set of Everloc suction cups to use with my Flexoline. Everloc suction cups have high load capacity up to 25lbs and more importantly they will attach to smooth and uneven surfaces. Regular suction cups will not attach to uneven surfaces. I tested them at home with my Flexoline and they worked great. They are a little pricey at $18.99+S/H for a set of 4 large suction cups (you only need 2 for your clothes line and the cheaper smaller size will probably work fine as well).. but you can use them in your home to hang items. Amazon sells them and Everloc has a marketing video on YouTube.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked Flawlessly, December 20, 2010

I used this laundry cord on my first backpack trip around the world. Worked flawlessly.

I added cheap aluminum carabineers to the cord's end-loops so I could hook the cord to just about anything. (recommended)

The rubber weave held wet t-shirts plus other lighter-weight clothes. (Blue-jeans might be too much for it. I didn't have any to try.)

Packed light and small in my back pack.

One note: As you'd expect, damp rooms don't dry clothes very quickly. Also, cotton t-shirts and socks don't dry quickly at all. Have a back-up plan. But this cord saved me a lot of hassle and cost around most of the planet.

Worked well with "Travelon TSA Carry-on Compliant Toiletry Sheets"

I highly recommend this product.
