Disappointing,
By SeaWalnut (US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Flexrake CLA349 Classic 8-Inch Ratchet Pruner, 3/4-Inch Capacity (Lawn & Patio)
I make extensive use of pruners, and have half a dozen around at any time. Bypass, ratchet and anvil all have their uses, but increasingly, I'll keep a ratchet pruner in hand or pocket unless something else is specifically required. This is the least expensive example I've tried. Alas, it's not very good, at least the sample I purchased. Action is neither smooth nor tight, and jaw opening is much too small for a ratchet pruner (where much of the benefit is the ability to cut larger branches). Remarkably, they seem to have omitted a spring to open the jaws even as far as they will go, so the tool has to be pulled open (or pushed against something) for every cut. Florian gets my top vote so far, but every other ratchet pruner I've used has been better than this one.
