I am thinking about planting some Sugar Beet food plots this year and wanted to see if the deer in my area would react to this stuff... They all really like it and even ate the dirt underneath it.
I got a lot more deer on camera and noticed them staying on camera for a longer period of time eating this stuff.

With that said - its a rip off. 50# bag of corn or beans will cost you half as much as feed ten times more deer.
Plus it contains a lot of artificial colors and flavors which we shouldn't feed deer to begin with.

Overall I gave it four stars for doing a great job attracting deer, but took off a star for all the artificial contents and hefty price tag.

While I had excellent results with the apple crush (same maker), the deer seem less interested in the sugar beet attractant. Perhaps it's because there are no sugar beet farms anywhere near the area. I'm moving back to the apple formula, but your results may vary based on habitat, browse, and feeding patterns.

Tried this for feeding and viewing deer in the winter on the back of our property. The FIRST NIGHT it was like a wildlife party out at the old drop feeder! We had 3 bucks and several does show up, and then to our surprise a family of racoons, possum and most surprisingly a fox! Because of the price and small amount, I switched to regular deer pellets on the next filling and the wildlife party slowed down big time, so I am really sold on the beet powder and am curious to see how it does in other more remote areas!

This stuff does work, but you have to have deer feeding in your area already. I always put it out and it's always gone. I don't see em eating it but I see signs of it. My dad witnessed an older doe put her nose under a yearling and flip her in the air, just to get at this stuff. Just give it some time.

I really wanted to see how good these attractants worked, so I bought several different kinds and set them up in competition in front of game cameras to see if one actually was better then the other. For this test I used this one (Deer Cane), Wildgame Innovations Sugar Beet Crush and Evolved Habitats Beast Feast. I used them all season long around several of my corn feeders and along known deer trails. I also dug 1 foot deep holes and mix each of these in with enough corn to fill the holes.

The Results.
Around the feeders the deer paid little attention to the spots I put these attractants. The deer did eat some of the corn in the holes but only the tops. The corn is still in the holes today after months and there has been no attempt by the deer to get at it. Along the trails the game, the cameras did capture pictures of the deer stopping to smell the different patches where I pour the attractants out, but upon close examination of the areas, there was no sign that the deer had licked or pawed the area trying to eat the attractant.

Analysis of the data.
None of the attractants stood out from the others. The deer showed equal interest in all three. The amount of interest the deer showed was appeared to be nothing more then curiosity.

Summery.
While these attractants might have some benefit when added to corn, they appear to have no tangible benefit by themselves. I also use real acorns in the same areas where I placed these attractants. With in 24 hours of dumping out piles of acorns (multiple times through out the season), there was a noticeable increase in deer traffic, and even new deer coming into the areas that had not been seen before in the area. The deer would remain in the area until every last acorn was consumed.

Works great for deer attractant . Use in front of cameras on our property to get deer surveys. Two downsides, 1-If you have hogs, don't use, they love it. 2-If it rains on it, the powder becomes a botany experiment in growing fungi. Otherwise, great at what it was meant to do.
