This Senta and the Färberin i "Die Frau ohne Schatten" (Solti) are the best things Hildegard Behrens has done on records. She is in absolute top form , so are all the other performers. Highly recommended!

this is probably my favorite opera by Wagner. a wonderful performance, excellent quality...while listening, i can close my eyes and vision bits of performances i have seen. transcendent.

The highlight is Hale as Dutchman: he is really great with clear smooth voice.
The orchestra is super clear and recorded really well. Otherwise the singers are nothing special but bearable. But very good overall. |
